Its a fun game. If you liked the first game, this is more game.
Dragons dogma has always been a sort of strange game with strange ideas, like fast travel being mostly limited to crystals, and healing items expiring, but if you're willing to engage with its weirdness it pays off

Notable changes that I've noticed since the first game are that strider was split into archer and thief, and there was ox carts that can be hired to do a psudeo fast travel between some points.

The dlc/mtx are all trivial things you can buy in shops easily, which is kind of silly.

It is a cozy little idle game where you represent the other side of adventurers coming in to sell their trash items and buy gear. You get stuff like sticks and goop and honey and build a potion shop or something and then use the proceeds to pay quest rewards while putting a bounty on like a golem or something so the next adventurers come back with iron and rocks.

The story is told through little picturebooks that the boss quests will give you when they show up. There are a lot of mechanics left deliberately unexplained to give the vibe of like "playing an untranslated mmo," so you can try to figure things out or puzzle things out in a discord.

It is important to keep in mind that this game is an idle game with a scale of it can take a few hours for your little guys to go out and do some quests. Like its a good idea to open up, post quests, stock your shops, and then check back in the morning or after work rather than stressing over minute to minute optimization.

Very interesting emergent story from procedural characters in a procedural world. The 'campaign' selected will fill in some broad points and key plot beats like 'meet with the smith at this location' or 'clear X tile within Y time frame', but there is a lot that can change within those

The combat is charmingly simple, with just enough depth to keep it interesting, and a wide variety of level up perks make characters feel different enough even if theyre nominally the same class

The main appeal of the game, i think, is getting attached to your procedural characters and their personal storylines as they age, starting from young 20 something ex farmers all the way to 60-70 year old retired adventurers, if they make it that far

A very fun gimmick with the time manipulation. It was a bit refreshing to play a game that seems like an rpg but without worrying about looting everything since there's no equipment or money.

Its not the longest of games, was about 3 sittings for me, but it was enjoyable.

If I have one real complaint it is the ending is a bit abrupt, it felt like there was supposed to be another third or quarter of the game, or at least another mission, so I was surprised to find out it was over.

A game about squelching around vents and eating scientists

Its fun while it lasts, which is about 3-4 hours depending on how quickly you get the puzzles and how many collectibles you collect.

A hard hitting depression simulator where not being able to sleep because you feel guilty about lieing about why you didn't pick up the phone when your dad calls is a gameplay mechanic
