I still remember when I first met Todd. We were at PAX West when I ran by his booth just as his guys were packing up and he was talking to some other developers about the engine update his team's working on for Fallout 76. As they started to leave, he made eye contact with me. I began to speak about how big of a fan I've always been and he just put a finger up to my lips and said, "Not here. How about my place?" Next I knew, we were sharing a bottle of wine and another bottle of champagne in front of a roaring fireplace in his immaculate living room. As he told me all about his time in the Chess Club, I recall losing track of how many drinks we'd been having- I couldn't really say a number, but I eventually passed out on his sofa. When I awoke, I felt like the sofa had ♥♥♥♥♥♥ a bit sturdier, my back a bit stiff, and the air a bit more crisp. I slowly opened my eyes to see myself no longer in Todd's living room but instead in the back of some horse-drawn carriage in what appeared to be the middle of the mountains. As I got my bearings, I heard a man softly say, "Hey you, you're finally awake. You were trying to cross the border, right?"
