Democracy Prevails! SONY blinked! On May 6th, 2024, SONY retracted the requirement to link a PSN account with the game.

This is what happens when you train a community by giving our Major Orders for a war in-game.

While it might be true that the Steam page advertised that the game needs a 3rd party Anti-Cheat and 3rd party account with PSN, the reality of this bait and switch is more nuanced:

- PSN is allowed only on 69 countries which means a huge population (countries like China, Philippines and CIS countries) of the players are now locked out of the game.
- Ukraine players are allowed to make PSN accounts as of today only through the PS console.
- UK players are required a facial scan and ID to make a PSN account.
- PSN TOS/FAQ initially said until a couple of days ago that PS games on PC do not require linking a PSN account and its optional. SONY edited that page incognito to state that "some PS games require linking a PSN account"

That's clearly false advertising and scummy. They clearly hoped no one noticed but the internet did.
