Just found an article that made my life easier.

I was trying to install Skyrim from the disc but we getting a strange error saying that the B: drive was faulty. So I started downloading by just doing the enter product key option, which was taking eternity.

Basically, delete the skyrim content and just windows+r and type "c:\program files\steam\steam.exe" -install D: and update those with the correct drives/steam location.
