I really wanted to like this game, and I really don't.

The gameplay is super repetitive and you're likely to get the same few endings over and over again if you don't use a guide due to the very randomized stat system, which I don't think you should have to use to fully experience a game.

The characters are a lot less likeable than I expected them to be and pretty shallow, it really doesn't feel like most of them would even like you as a friend, which just makes me feel awkward trying to get closer to anyone. The writing and humor also falls pretty flat for me, but that's a personal preference. This franchise is definitely carried by its art and character design, and I wish it would be a little more enjoyable to play. Probably would've worked better as a comic or pure visual novel.

decided to give the game a try because it looked fun, it's now my favorite thing ever and I have an unhealthy obsession with machines and angels.

I went into this game blind without any grand expectations, it started out as a fun and engaging game and got deeper and deeper as you progress. The game does an incredible job at portraying its themes and characters. You as the player get to feel with these characters on a very intimate and personal level, and when they persist, so do you. Absolutely incredible storytelling and a genuine once in a lifetime experience that will break you and leave you in shambles. An absolute masterpiece.
