Doom is essentially a love letter to all things metal, and is both incredibly fun and makes you feel like a total badass while playing. It honestly feels almost like you're inside of an 80s heavy metal album.

I personally love a good 4-5 hour game, and Elderborn certainly hits that mark. Most of the game's level design was relatively garbage, but the gameplay and music were good enough that I wasn't too bothered. I really love that you can choose the BGM from the pause menu. It feels like this game was basically built just to advertise a metal album, and honestly? I kind of love that.

There are spoilers below:

I've been playing Isaac since the release of the original game, and whereas some of the updates only seemed to make it worse by filling the item pool with useless items, Repentance has rebalanced many of those previously useless items, and it feels like there are very few hopeless runs. Alongside this broad, amazing rebalancing, it added an INSANE amount of content. Just as I was starting to think I was wrapping things up, I noticed that I still had like... 300 achievements to go, and thought that was weird, since I had already beaten Delirium, Mega Satan, etc. with almost every character... Then I learned about SPOILER Home and the bosses that were added there.

Well, I buckled up and got to work clearing out those completion marks, SPOILER AND THEN I FOUND OUT ABOUT THE FREAKING TAINTED CHARACTERS!!

Jesus Nicalis, will you ever actually let me finish Isaac??

I still really suck at dodging enemies, but (mostly) melee L4D is surprisingly fun!

Both an amazing Batman game and an amazing Telltale game. It's a shame we won't be seeing any more Telltale games!

The translation is extremely clunky, the movement is floaty, other than bosses, the game is extremely easy, and the areas are forgettable. This essentially feels like a cheap Souls clone, except, at least in Asia, it's far from cheap at nearly 90 USD without the DLC.

I got it on sale from Humble Bundle for around 25 USD, and I can safely say I could have spent that money on 25 random pieces of junk from the dollar store and felt less ripped off.

I was enthralled for about the first hour or so. After that, the repetitive and poorly written dialogue and the painfully boring, poorly executed combat mechanics were just too much for me. I feel like the only thing I accomplished by pushing through Vampyr was wasting 18 hours of my life.

I went into this expecting nothing more than a hyper-violent romp through a classic mobster story, but The Darkness II more than surpassed any expectations I had. With refreshing gameplay and a gripping story, this is an experience that you can't overlook and won't soon forget.
