Dark Souls III is a fantastic game. "Everyone's first Souls game is going to be their favorite one" applies in this case, but here's some thoughts on what makes this the best Souls game for myself (while all of them are great unique experiences on their own):

- Polished, tight gameplay coupled with progressive intrigue & curiosities. There's hardly a moment where this game is uninteresting, it continuously feeds you with new environments and consistent atmosphere.
- You will encounter all kinds of monstrosities that will not leave you unfazed. However, so long as you keep your fighting spirit, it won't be long until you find yourself basking in elation as you overcome, at first sight, unmovable obstacles that keep you on your toes.
- With the growing confidence in your ability to handle threats, while they felt huge back then, they'll have begun shrinking into ants. Improvement & learning is the reward for perseverance.
- After going through seemingly endless hardship and hard work to better yourself, you're eventually greeted by beautiful sights you'll be forced to appreciate. The game forces you through lifeless, hopeless scenery, until finally presenting majestic elegance.

The story is the world and its inhabitants, told by state, just like how we infer our reality. You're merely given an outlay of history to set the stage. After that? There is no storyteller, no narration, no quest markers. The world just is.

If you're willing to immerse yourself and step to the shoes of your character, then this game will reward you greatly. It's more of an experience, rather than passive listening & following.

Remember that in the end, all reviews on what's fun are entirely subjective, therefore YMMV.

TL;DR: If you like to immerse yourself completely, as in, live your characters instead of passively listening and following, then go get it - this is the game for you!

The game was fun to play, but could use some story writing to make it more of an engaging experience. Right now it felt more like a dopamine trap - for some players I'm sure that's enough, but for me this game steps to the area where it really could benefit from a story, or even just a talking sidekick? Nothing grand, something light-hearted!

During the gameplay I encountered some minor UI hiccups and two potential bugs, nothing game-breaking.

Looking forward to try out the full game!

A fine, casual, horror detective-esque game. Really like playing it every now and then when I decide to launch again. Looking forward to more updates! Especially on the ghosts' appearances, it would add up by loads to the general atmosphere of finding out the type of the ghost you're dealing with if they were more unique - not perhaps all that humanoid. A demon should look like a demon.

A great game that has come a long way to gaining it's position as a fantastic and a creatively forceful sandbox game that no doubt anyone can love. A big thumbs up for Chucklefish for the slow ride to perfection, it was definitely worth it!

This is a hit, i had tons of nice laughs while playing this. When you play the story more, awesome stuff will come up, the game is just so awesome and includes lots of fun and you can really get seriously addicted to this one, specially if you are playing the game with your friends. Great game, the critics are not talking crap even though it seems almost unbelieveable flawless.
I loved the very starting of the game, in the ~~~~ where you could explore a bit, it already gave me taste of the awesomeness of this game, it is just simply so good. It has humour, horror, exploding-action, everything!
Totally recommend 10/10

It is a masterpiece! It's name fits the game perfectly, it is a moddable mod and it's millions of gametypes, maps, addons are awesome, the community rocks! However, cons for that, some old features were removed for no reason, such as the "Disable collisions" option, that is luckily available through addon "Extended Properties", 8.8/10
