I am writing this review right after my game crashed at the 89th minute. I have not crashed in-game in over a few years

I played FC24 and found it fun and enjoyable to an extent. Not great per se, but not terrible either. I got this game thinking that it would at the very least be the same. But no, this game is significantly slower, has significantly more bugs and crashes, and has a massive hacking problem. On top of all that, communication from EA to the player base addressing bugs and glitches is almost nonexistent.

Ultimate Team
Rush, which was this game's only redeemable factor, has been ruined by selfish and/or AFK players that can ruin fun for others with no punishment, not to mention the fact that you will encounter the same unrewarding gameplay mechanics that plague the other game modes across the title.
Evolutions , which were a revolutionary concept last year, has been riddled with bugs blocking valid evolution chains and removing stat upgrades for no reason. On a separate note, one paid evolution in particular had extremely absurd requirements, requiring 24 wins in a limited game mode.
Squad battles has become much more difficult compared to previous titles. If you search for other players' experiences online or play a game yourself, you will find that playing World Class difficulty, for example, will be much more difficult than last year. Reaching 5 goals against WC difficulty AI used to be easy even with off-chem and silver teams, but the AI now plays with significantly higher pressing and in a much more possessive manner. AI-controlled slow defenders also seem to catch up to pacey wingers much more even when neither have the ball.
Rivals has had the worst update out of all UT game modes. Previously, reward levels were at 4 and 7 wins. Now, they are at 5 and 15. Unless you are at a division much weaker than yourself, it will take quite some time reaching 15 wins. Even with better rewards, it is insane that the next reward upgrade from 5 wins is 15.
Champions qualifications now requires 3/5 wins compared to the previous 4/10, and finals consists of only 15 games. The new qualification requirement now forces out many players that would have made it through to the finals in the previous titles, resulting in a much sweatier finals experience for those that do make it through. On PC in particular, it will be near impossible to reach top rewards even for pros due to the absurdly high number of hackers.

Other game modes
Career mode is riddled with bugs as well. Transfer ratings are nonsensical and weak foot/skill move upgrades are not reflected in game. Modding may be necessary to make these modes more enjoyable. Some objectives in the player career mode that give season points are also bugged and will not allow you to get the points for that objective and the objective group as a whole.
Pro clubs shares some of the same issues with UT, notably with Rush. Matchmaking is also quite poor and there have been recorded instances of players loading into the game as players on the other team.

In general, both you and your opponent will experience the following:
- You do not win the ball after making a good tackle or you win the ball after making a good tackle and immediately lose it
- You will get a red card and concede a penalty after making a good tackle
- A player will be visibly and obviously offside, but a pass to that player will not be flagged as offside
- Your goalkeeper will look away from the ball
- You will concede a comically absurd power shot
- You will be disconnected from a game while winning and be told that EA are looking at results to determine who won
- Your goalkeeper will save a shot only for the ball to bounce straight to the feet of another opponent player for an easy goal
- Your game will freeze in the menus
- You will have a Rush teammate that is AFK all game and plays every opponent onside
- Your player will miss an easy goal despite green timing the shot
- Your pass will be misdirected to another player and the pass will be intercepted
- You will lose a game despite having significantly more xG than the opponent

If you want to play a football game, I recommend sticking to any previous renditions of the game you already own or wait for other releases. Because until EA does something drastic, this game will not be enjoyable. The only reason why people will still play this game is because of FOMO and the fact that they paid 60 dollars for it.
