It is very understandable that you got that impression and lost faith in the development making progress.
However, since December 2 major updates have been released, bringing the game a lot closer to completion.

With the December update, a lot of new content and features have been introduced.
Reactions have been very positive and multiplayer had lots of players returning.
Now the latest update delivered more content and a lot more playtime in the career mode.
Bugbear has also listened closely to the community feedback and also reacted to lots of suggestions.

Now would be a very good time to jump back in and see for yourself.
