It's a hardcore fps player's casual game, if that makes sense.
The game is tense, shaky, and dark. Yes, you suck at it. The good news is that everyone does too. The game has very loose yet controlled hip fire: you can shoot at many things in front of you without changing your main perspective. At first it feels like a wobbly hinderance, and then you learn to use the force and get the most satisfying kill in any current fps.

Prox-comms and post-death drones are a hilarious combo in competitive modes.
Free-for-All is very fun.
The game menus are simple and feature a music player, much like a sports or racing game.
The soundtrack is dope; one of the best uses of licensed music I've seen in years.
The new monetization is small and out of the way. Plenty of free stuff to get across the seasons.

Probably the best "hardcore" FPS experience I've had since the original Insurgency.

Protip: Play in 720p and use a pistol. You WILL have fun.
