So for the 20th Anniversary we get Umbrella Corps, 25th Anniversary we get RE:Verse... pepespit

This game is not good.
-Generic deathmatch game
-Can't party up with a friend, just press play, pick character, start matchmaking
-Gameplay is weak and boring and gets old fast

The only good thing I got out of this game is that I got a few laughs out of turning into a fat molded and running around doing a leap attack.

For the 25th Anniversary, I would prefer that we got Outbreak 3 or Revelations 3 (with proper online story co-op) and Raid mode, or a remaster/port of the original trilogy and CVX to Steam (and the new consoles), any of those would have been more appreciated than this.

I gave this a chance anyway, and tried to play it, despite knowing that I don't want a mp deathmatch/battle royale game for a 25th anniversary with comic book cel shaded graphics (at least you can turn that off but I just turned the game off instead), but it's really not fun and I'm not interested at all while I'm playing, it's just very boring and lifeless, the game feels like it was thrown together very quickly as if it was some executive's demand to make a multiplayer game. I love Resident Evil but not the PVP side of it.

Also why is RE7 Chris in this? They fixed his design with RE8, use that model! The whole game feels cheap and half arsed. They should've just spent this development cost on making a co-op mode for RE8 that would feel more meaningful, such as Mercenaries or Raid which we haven't seen since RE6 in 2012 and REV2 in 2015.

I hope this isn't a sign of RE8s quality or amount of content, after what happened with RE3R and its "free" game as well (I love RE3R but it lacks content)

This is one of the greatest games ever made and is ahead of its time. It is a meticulously well crafted and superlative game, don't miss out on this. Chapter 7 was my favourite.

*vomits from VR discomfort* *falls asleep in vomit because the gameplay is boring* *wakes up and uninstalls the game*

messed with the settings but this game is way too uncomfortable to play in VR. I swear one of the repetitive puzzles are broken in VR as well.
Shame because the game looks frickin epic in VR.

Overall a great experience! 🤢 🤮

As a hardcore ***serious gaming*** Metal Gear fanboy, I can say with complete confidence that this game is a ♥♥♥♥ stain on the legendary series it hails from.

But even Metal Gear fell victim to modern day games and game development standards set by the powers that be, as a result Kojima coughed up this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of an 'open world' game because he had a hard on for GTA 5 and he delivers nothing at all that we have not seen before in games and totally fails to live up to any hype whatsoever.

Seriously watching the MGSV trailers actaully depresses me because of what this game was supposed to be.

"But the gameplay is fun as hell at least! What's wrong with you?"

MGS4 has deeper gameplay than this game

The gameplay has been fun since the franchise was frickin born, so you can stop trying to write off MGSV as a success because of that, not to mention Ground Zeroes is a better game and has the same gameplay.

But wait, you have 200 hours! How can anyone play a game they hate for 200 hours?!

It took me about 100 hours to get through all the padding and tedium to actually finish the story because I was determined to see some development, like you I fell for Kojima's spell and thought this game would get amazing later on, but it actaully got worse. 20 hours were probably spent idle crying at my desk because the story sucked ass, the rest was waiting for items to get developed because everything was on an 18min to 2 hour timer. lolol.

By the time I was even half way through Chapter 1 and not even in Africa, I knew I was disappointed with the story. When Chapter 2 came and the preview hyped everything up I was excited, thinking... this can get better right? It didn't. It got worse, way worse.

I'm not going to talk about the story, it's half finished and even with the cut mission(s) we know about the game would've still been underwhelming anyway. I'm annoyed at Chapter 1 almost as much as Chapter 2. Especially since the fact that this game might as well have not happened to be honest and we would be none the wiser, this game settles absolutely nothing that we wanted to know.

The missions are full of fetchquests, Ocelot has been dumbed down to an office administrator and Kaz just yells in your ear constantly to save these random guys because I'm a nice person or because Kaz told me to or something.

When some good mission actaully happened or cutscene I was like 'wow its about to get real!' then it was over as soon as I said that to myself.

The side ops are the worst padding ever, worse than Skyrim. Worse than any padding I've ever experienced. I have more fun grinding in boring turn based RPGs. Literally all 150 missions are the same, have fun with that.

The only thing this game has going for it was the prologue/intro, but then even replaying it becomes tedious because it's this semi-interactive ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that lasts for an hour and it's NOT fun.

Even the final mission is a rehash of the prologue, and that is just pathetic even by Kojima's standards.

Honestly it's very clear what the problems are with this game, and if you can't see that you're blind. If you enjoy the gameplay I totally understand that, most games these days are like TPP: Victims of empty open worlds full of useless padding.

I give this game a final score of (score removed)/10

Painfully average

It's not exactly terrible, but it's really not great either. I had to replay this game during my RE marathon to see if my criticism in 2015 was an overreaction, but nah (maybe a little). Claire is only Claire in name, Moira is annoying and has a cringe worthy script and the levels and enemies feel uninspired and bland most of the time (the ones in Barry's campaign are kind of cool I guess).

The gameplay feels very unsatisfying as well. I like every mainline RE game, except this one, or at least to a lesser degree, this game is just "alright".

I didn't hate this game, it held my interest to the end. I like it when RE does different things in each game, it's one of the things I like about the series, but Revelations 2 feels like a boring rip off/experiment based on other games that were popular around 2015.

It did have some cool moments like the Overseer (without spoilers, although their potential was wasted by being in this game), the Barry levels were decent for the most part (I liked that they were a lot more creepy) and Claire's Episode 3, there were some other good moments too, but the game is mostly forgettable that I literally forgot some of the other things I liked after beating the game for the second time 30 minutes ago.

Revelations 1 is miles better in every aspect, so I have no idea why this is lauded as the better game when I read about it online.
