This game is nice, a very polished game with mostly fun platforming/puzzle gameplay. It's insane that this was only made by one person in the course of 7 years (art and music included!)

The story is... interesting. It is very heavy on it. It kept me interested in some parts but lost me in others. Not in the kind that I didn't understand what was going on, but I was rather wondering "Why would x do x?". It was angering at times.
The characters are written and presented in such a way that you kind of know what to expect of them, but they're likeable. Villians have even more depth than main characters, pretty cool.
I think if it was a more to-the-point story with less erasable filler and instead expanded on the whole world/religion/situation would've been better. Dunno why it was left to an NPC in a church to explain /very shortly/ on some of those things instead of it being included through game cutscenes and expanded upon.
I also expected with such a heavy story that you'd be able to make choices to affect the story in any way, but the choices you're given don't really do much.
Final Boss spoilers: It's kinda like the dog ending in Sillent Hill 2 lmao, definitely not a worthy payoff. Would've been better if it was only the Starworm. I also wish he actually spoke. I know he's supposed to be controlling all of it with the mind control ray thingy but it is all left in a big question mark. Theres also no epilogue

The game is not very difficult, unless you've played through the game once and unlocked challenge mode (wish you could've picked it from the start!) I played through the game on the hardest difficulty and without doing any ability upgrades in game to try to make it a little bit more challenging, got through it just fine.
Gameplay spoiler: I appreciate you being able to play as other characters (albeit VERY short gameplay of them), really wish you were able to play as other characters more, it actually doesnt really matter who's in your party or not

The reason that I am writing this review however is one thing: the bosses. These are the most fun boss battles I have EVER played in any game, each and every one of them brings something different to the table. They felt like rewards after going through the puzzles, and their themes are mostly hyping up the battle.
They're seriously what made the game for me, they never felt repetitive or unfair.

Overall I like this game. The art is amazing, music too, it had a couple of very memorable pieces like Psychopomp and Preacher, and it has controls that are fluid, but the amount of backtracking that you have to do currently prevents me from wanting to play through the game again in challenge mode but I might do it sometime.
