The development phase of the game is supposed to be in beta but is clearly in alpha. The developers are lacking direction as far as where to direct the game and progress has been dreadfully slow. There has not been a single major gameplay addition since release several months ago. Things for Starbound, at least in my opinion, do not look promising. I certainly feel buyer's remorse, with what follows yet another early release dud.

Starbound is another early release with grandiose ideas and intentions but ultimately fails to deliver a proper progression of development. With most of its playerbase gone and having made the bulk of its money from the initial hypestorm, Starbound is effectively dead.
