Combat is quite clunky (ie it's supposed to be like Elden Ring I assume, but terribly executed).
Enemies pathfinding is lackluster
The camera and lock-on are almost non-existent or work incorrectly. When you lock onto an enemy in front of you, it sometimes turns the camera 360 degrees first, making you lose sight of the action for a bit...

It has some nice ideas, but for the most part it's not even EA-ready.
It needs much more time to cook before it's in a truly enjoyable state.

Also these dev tweets are just wrong, don't use the EA excuse to justify being lazy. They are releasing fixes today, why not have those from the start yesterday? Most likely the fixes were ready and they just wanted to act like they listen to "player feedback"....

Board games!
They really should update it more often though, it lacks a lot of new features offered in other virtual tabletop simulators games. But it's also quite simple so that's why it's so popular.

I usually dislike FPS/Shooters (mainly because I'm terrible at them), but this is just SO MUCH FUN.
A whole variety of weapons, lots of gadgets and full arena destruction. It gets better the more you play and they keep making it better each season!

I can't believe it took so long for me to review it.
Hopefully my in-game hours speak for themselves, and I have even more because I was using the official launcher before (I'm at 269 days in-game!).

It's an MMO but the story is just so great. It won't be for everyone but if you enjoy fantasy, raiding and/or amazing music then give it a try, it has a massive free trial!

Puzzles, electricity, time travelling and more puzzles! It's awesome :)

Definitely recommend it, all the characters feel quite different and the game can be fairly challenging. I like the variety of modules the game gives you, and each run you get to upgrade a bunch of them to make your run even more unique.

Considering the price, I think that's pretty great!

Pretty much, and it has great multiplayer so go ahead and buy it!

I originally didn't recommend the game, I'm actually updating it after playing a bit more.
It's not bad at all. It's not Hades, but it's still good enough.

I'll leave most of my review below, the main thing that's changed it the sheer amount of unlocks and meta progression is both exhausting and enticing. It's fun to unlock all this stuff, but there's SO MUCH it's tough to keep track.
And the fear system is just silly, if I only need to get to the first boss with my weapon, there's very little point in continuing the run after that.... Sure you get to farm more mats but you might as well reset and make your fear grind faster. Really hope they change it eventually.

Initial review:
If you really really enjoyed Hades, you might enjoy this but they removed a lot of the things that made it great like fast paced dodging, timed dash strikes, ... and kept the insane mind-numbing currency grind.
It does have great story telling, world building, art, narration etc so in a way it's more of what made Hades great but it also feels much less polished (which makes sense, it's EA).

I haven't beaten it yet, gotten to the last boss a few times although the silly dodge delay and weird iframes is making it tough to beat (unless you decide to infinitely spam ranged attacks, but that makes everything boring). I'm not really sure why they changed the dash, it was great in Hades.
They also added a sprint. But the sprint boons are all terrible because it relies on sprinting and sprinting is clunky. So it removes quite a few interesting dash builds from Hades...

It does have some more grinding systems compared to Hades, like farming, arcana (which don't really bring anything to the table, it's just another meta grind that lets you power creep)....
And some of the boons now have elemental stacking, which is a nice addition.

It's a mixed bag for now. I like it, I enjoy it, I wish it were cheaper and I wish they actually innovated instead of doing more of the same Hades stuff but worse. If you're going to make it worse, you might be better off adding a DLC to Hades.

The game is great so far, I'm having plenty of fun.
Performance isn't great, but it's playable. Is this acceptable? Barely. Is it worth a negative review? Maybe, it depends on your system.


But now I feel compelled to leave a positive review earlier than I'd like because of so much misinformation being spread in other reviews, to "balance it out".
All these "DLCs" people mention are available in-game, for free. Just play the game, buy an item from a merchant and change your appearance. It's really not rocket science. If only people who leave reviews actually played the game.

PoE is too complex nowadays and Diablo 4 is.... Diablo 4...
Last Epoch has been treating me well, and it's only getting better!

It's great fun, with a very solid foundation for EA.
It already has most of the QoL you'd expect from a perfect roguelite, which is just awesome!

All it really needs is a little more content (although it already have quite a lot) and that's why EA is there.
For the price, it's 200% worth it and I expect it to only get better!
