Furthermore, there is some evidence of why the game is suffering right now. Most magic weapons have incredibly high scaling right out of the box - there's a staff you get near the start, that at level 0, is S tier scaling already. All melee weapons in the game are around D, and stay around D even after massive upgrades. Arcane scaling might be apart of this issue as well.

Elden Ring runs perfectly on my computer in 4k resolution, I'm guessing it was built for modern hardware. Also - Arcane scaling isn't nearly as broken as Magic/Katanas - but it's still something to consider. I think the game needs to be balanced for effect-less melee first and foremost, and then find a way to add all these effects/magic ontop of that without making it far easier... I also think katana's shouldn't break guards, or have their bleed effect removed otherwise. Let me know your thoughts, and feel free to add me if you have additional input.

A year ago you uploaded an edited terrain.party (here: https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1275917540) , where the scale was perfect (17,28x17x28km).
