Can't change the camera FoV, which is an extremely basic QoL feature, and literally could be implemented in about an hour or two, max, i reckon. This camera is too damned close, I can't see anything, and its giving me a migraine. Guess that's one way to get us to minimize playtime for a lot of players. Give them a literal headache. Can't suffer game addiction if you can't play for longer than 45 minutes~ <Taps temple> Genius. Skyrim didn't have this feature for the longest time, but Skyrim was an awful video game, from over a decade ago, and its only saving grace was mods, I don't think anyone should compare this actual game to that code vomit. Just getting ahead of that one.

There is also no private PvE Operations on launch, only campaign. Planned for the future, and soon, but quite frankly, it should be in at launch. Literally already have the framework for it with the campaigns, why do we have to wait for this BASIC feature? "Soon" isn't acceptable when its a basic thing that could be implemented in a few minutes of work. Genuinely, what's up with that?

And this one's actually just a subjective, personal gripe, but little-to-no customization for Titus in the campaign. Don't like that, I look like a pastel-colour american flag walking around. I get it, its the lore, but come on... Looked way better in the intro, now I look like some ripoff gundam, buzz lightyear wanna-be mf.

Other than that, game's great. Good gameplay, combat's... irritating, but not awful, or even bad just... DEFINITELY for console gamers, and needs some work, which they CLAIM they're doing... The control layout is uber kooky, idunno what's going on there... I know there's not really a standard for what functions should be mapped to which button, but like... there should be. But I guess it's fine, it just takes getting used to.

I. Don't. NOT. like this game. But I don't recommend it right now. They need to actually... yknow... IMPLEMENT -basic- features before people toss money at it, and if my stupid-ahh review stops someone from doing that, i guess thats 60 USD averted from this company. If you're going to give me a toy for christmas that I have to wind up to play with it, but you tell me you'll give me the key for my birthday, you've given me a broken or incomplete toy. Sure, I could play with it for a while, whilst I wait for it to be completed or fixed, but its not performing the function it is supposed to, BASIC functions artificially withheld because... reasons?

Genuinely, incredibly baffling there aren't solo or private Operations, when there's already a solo/private Campaign mode.

Its like Cowboy Doom. The animations are great, albeit occasionally buggy, cutscenes are fantastic, voice acting is very good. The gameplay is the weakness of this project.

Movement is very choppy? In a way? There's no momentum when you dash, you just fall back down in almost a straight line, when I feel I should keep flying a ways. There is no sprint, but that's not really an issue, you move pretty fast as is and the maps are very small (which might not be a good thing).

Enemies are very... well, theyre not weak, they can pack a punch, but they STRUGGLE to hit you, as their animation seems to require them to stop completely, so if you just run in a circle, you can pretty much dodge anything but AoE attacks.

Its OKAY. Its an OKAY game. It is NEAT, and quite beautiful.

I apparently played this game for TEN HOURS yesterday... neat.

I definitely see why people compare this to bannerlord, but there's really only one way its comparable, as I've seen so far. There's just an overworld travel system. Basically everything else about this game seems unique. A friend I was streaming it for compared the look and feel to Adventure Quest, but honestly I don't see that, either. For me, it feels more like Daggerfall.

This game's awesome as is, but definitely needs more work and love, there's a lot that is either unimplemented yet or broken.

I literally only bought this game because a review mentioned the movement system... so lets talk about that.
Its GREAT. Fantastic, even. I do wish you could run faster, but there are several movement abilities that make traversing the fields not only a breeze, but also satisfying and VERY fun. Also? You can climb. And there's a grappling hook which has upgrades!

Combat: Like I said, there's a lot unimplemented or underdone, or outright bugged. The game is in early access, and while that doesn't have a lot of weight behind it these days, this game seems to get actively updated, with new content, new features, the works. But even still, the combat is awesome. Daggers are particularly fun. I wish there was more to Archery and the like, but honestly its fine. But my favorite right now is a mix of Necromancy and Two-Handed, in a sort of Oathbreaker/Death Knight kind of thing. Its fun. Also, yes, there's necromancy. And pyromancy. And basically every other form of magic you could probably think of, with more on the way.

Its all a work-in-progress, and the progress so far is astounding. It feels ALMOST finished. There's also a slow time button, and that's neat. Personally, I could do without the stamina bar, like, at all, for everything BUT abilities and slow-time junk, as again, the movement's great, combat's fun, but its having to stop and be slow for a while that harshes the buzz, honestly. But that's a personal issue, and I get the reason behind the choice. Its supposed to be more of a tactical thing, in that way, having to manage your resources in a fight, try not to get cornered with your pants down, that sort of thing.

Story: Surprisingly good, imo. Its a subjective thing, though. But the dialogue and junk all seems well written, but definitely has the ~vibe~ of a particularly skilled Moon Guard roleplayer, or a mediocre dungeon master, in some of the ways actions are written out in dialogue. But honestly, the story isn't exactly the selling point here, is it?

Graphics: Potato quality, but stylized and artistic, thematic even. I'm not really sure what word i'm looking for here, but its simplistic, sort of retro in a way? It looks like Tavern Master. I think its mostly just assets or something, as I've seen most of this in Tavern Master. But what ISN'T just assets is the combat and junk, but I've already talked about that.

Audio/Music: Sometimes its unbalanced, and ABSURDLY loud, like with explosions. But honestly, its kind of fine?? It could use work. But the sound ITSELF, rather than the mixing(?) is very good. Music is pretty, but feels generic, could be royalty free stuff or something, but its nice, and fits the vibe of the gameworld. The way the music cuts off and shifts into a combat theme GIVES TES IV: Oblivion, too, and that's neither good nor bad. It's just strange.

Interface: Its... fine. I wish there were more buttons. By level 10 or so, I have so many abilities, and I can't use all of them, even though I'd like to. You get five buttons at a time to work with, which is sort of good, but I do wish you could bind certain other keys to things. But you get two bars, which you can switch between with Left Control. And I guess that's fine, but it still leaves a few spells or abilities out, ones I'd like to still use.

You can also use the Caps Lock quick spells menu, which gives you i think ten buttons to work with, but when all my abilities are either movement or fast-paced combat oriented, its a little hard to hold caps like and press a button while ALSO moving. It'd be nice to have maybe, instead of 1-5, 1-6 and some customizable hotkeys? Maybe this already exists and I just haven't found it. Which is a bit of an issue.

This game's tutorial is not very good. They are popups in the left corner which you can skip by pressing E, but they also go away after a short period of time. Very short. Like, I'm still reading it, short, sometimes. And I don't think there's a way to read it after it goes away. This is problem for two reasons: Text dump tutorials aren't good. I need something more in-game than that, a prompt that tells me what to do, and guides me through learning how to do something. Not every time, of course, just the first time, so I know what I'm even doing.

I HATE text dumps. Reading them, not writing them, evidently. I'm playing a video game, not doing a book report, I don't want to read your block of text. But sometimes the text is well written and conveys information well as a result, meaning theyre not BAD text dumps, they're just bad because theyre text dumps. But also? I can't read them, sometimes.

We need to be able to read them, and then dismiss them when we're done. SOMETIMES we get a big full-window box saying "Here's a thing, here's how to do it!" which is more of a guide, but sometimes its a little box in the corner telling you some concepts, more like hints. I can't always read the hints in time, and there are often times i'm pressing E RIGHT when the box pops up, so I can't POSSIBLY read it.

If there is a way to access the hunts after they disappear, i've not found it, and if there is, it needs to be more prominent in a game with SO MUCH in it, and so MANY hints.

If I go away for a while and come back to the game and forget what something is, I want to be able to know where to go to learn about it again, so I don't feel utterly lost and like I need to just start over. Though, to be fair, as an alt-oholic, that's gonna happen anyway. There is an introductory pop-up when you first start a new game, and if there is a place to go to read those hints and guides, tell me THERE. And if there isn't? That's awful, and probably the worst design choice to have made here.

Moreover, there are certain aspects that i don't recall ever being explained whatsoever. Nothing told me I could have a mount, it took me 7 hours to find that button. Which made me feel really dumb, or blind, or both. Probably both. A character just tells you that you can take his mount, and the game never tells you, that i saw, where to go or what to do to find that.

Its in the inventory screen on the left-hand side of the screen. Some guides online says its on the right, and i spent 10 minutes looking back and forth, completely overlooking the little tabs on the LEFT side because of that, and was so mad at myself once i saw the big ass red button that says MOUNTS.

Make sure to have us open up that menu once, when we get our first mount!

Other things that seem to not have anything mentioning them is SHOVING and DODGING. It just mentions these terms offhand, but never tells you how, and NOTHING in the controls mentions them either.

They are Block+Hit and Block+Jump respectively. I'm not sure how effective they are, as the dagger's "Shove a climbable surface" thing doesn't work, it just bugs out the animations.

Game's good, AND very reasonably priced, for being unfinished.

I spoke with Milo, the developer for this game, briefly while trying to report the dagger bug. They already knew about it, what was causing it, and have already fixed it for the next update! We love Milo. All my homies love Milo. Big ups there. Please continue, you've made a fantastic experience, a good game (with a lacking tutorial imo but that's normal). We here at Emily's Long Rants, Incorporated very muck look forward to seeing your progress, and playing what you have to offer.

We played this on-stream, a few matches anyway. Right off the bat, its basically Boo Men. What this game does REALLY well is jumpscares. The ghost leaning out from behind a wall GETS me. Honestly, I'd prefer if it were JUST THAT, and not a constant Phasmophobia hunt. Maybe that's just a me thing, but... That's just my thoughts. I'd prefer a chill experience with friends with a lot of spooks and scares, maybe some puzzles, rather than a constant chase and battle to stay in the light. Its just... not very fun for me, as Boo Men just did it a lot better.

The AI TTS is... fine... I guess... I mean, its goofy. Silly, even. But the gameplay itself is... well, I wouldn't say fun, but it's definitely enjoyable. Making drinks is a good time, and the mechanics of it are really well done, at least in my opinion. I wish there was more here, but I understand this is JUST A DEMO. I'm excited for the full game, but really... Do a fundraiser, hire some voice actors, the AI voices are stupid. I will do my best Arthur Morgan impression for you. Really.

I don't get the appeal of having absolutely ♥♥♥♥ all to actually do, solo or otherwise. Its just a me thing, i guess, but... nah. At least it was free this time.
