Very barebones as it is, but I feel this has a lot of potential. Here are some ideas for improvement.
-Game insists on warning me that I didn't give out potions when my entire inventory for the party is filled with them.
-A "preset" feature for party inventories so I do not need to load up on potions all the time.
-Crafting as it currently is is a bit too confusing. Maybe include more starter blueprints?
-Managed to build a chair but could not place it in my dormitory.
-More of a story or motivation would be cool, even if it's just "to have the bestest guild in all the land."
I will check on this game again in a few months to see progress.

I first heard about this game from an interview with the Geek Freaks, and the interview sparked my interest. While I know how much it hurts to receive a negative review, understand that I am doing it from a position of love.
I think the concept of what you have here has a lot of potential, but the game is hampered by its execution. Here are some issues I ran into while playing that need to be cleared up:
-The main menu navigation is hard-locked to 640x480, creating black sidebars. This leaves a bad first impression in an industry where first impressions are everything.
-The chatbox where you receive communications could be aligned further to the right of the screen so as to not get in the way of any gameplay going on.
-Speaking of the chatbox, when it was full, it immediately went on to the next text without giving me a chance to read it ("It is always important to remember to-Good Luck, MARS!"). A coroutine of waiting 2.5 seconds or so before moving on would do wonders.
-Near the end of the tutorial, I got stuck in a loop where it would show me a cutscene of Thorns lurking about, then when I tried to continue, would show it again. I had to take a different route between buildings to avoid a trigger. Set up a flag that indicates if the player has seen it once, it does not play again, or deactivates whatever triggers the cutscene.
-I am not sure if the flamethrower is meant to have infinite ammo or not, but it did for me, having 1000/1000 the entire time. If it is supposed to have infinite ammo, replace this with an infinity sign or remove the counter altogether. If it is supposed to have a limited supply, check the logic again.
-The indicator that you've taken damage (a red screen with binary covering the screen) is cool, but when you are surrounded by seven Thorns, it gets annoying really fast. I'd suggest either using a different indicator of taking damage, making it probability based (20% chance of appearing when taking damage), or setting up a cooldown for it (can only be shown once every four seconds).
-I tried purchasing the grenade launcher, and the whole game started lagging something crazy. I also tried using previous instructions to equip it to my robot by pressing 3 and it would not equip. I think trying to materialize the grenade launcher causes the game to stutter in terms of FPS.
I am willing to go further into the game once these issues are cleared up. With more enemy types (I only saw two) and different weapons this could be a lot of fun.

Game is complex, but not too complex like BTD6 is.

Read the lines in your head in the character's voices, and enjoy.

If I could, I would give this game a sideways vote, but unfortunately I only have two options of either recommending the game or not recommending the game.

The game has a lot to offer. An interesting story if you remain spoiler free and pay attention to everything, a lot of diverse powerups of varying effectiveness, and a lot more.

At the same time, the boss fights are nothing but frustration-fests. Elizabeth Greene is the worst boss fight in my entire 25 years of playing video games.
You heal nonstop just to get 2 seconds of combat in, then you repeat about 1000 times.
If you mess up once you have to start from the very beginning.
Never in my wildest fever dreams could I have created a boss this crummy. It nearly ruined the ENTIRE game for me.

As a result I would like to say this game is okay, but while I at first thought it was better than inFAMOUS 1 as I traveled across New York City, it slowly but surely became less fun once I had to encounter the boss fights.

While I prefer the standalone client, Steam's access works when the client has glitches.
When it comes to side games to play while doing other things, Runescape is king, but there are things here too if you really want to give the game your undivided attention such as harder slayer monsters and bosses.
The game is very different than it was in the mid 2000s but there are options to customize the game to make it very close to how it was back in 2005, with better graphics, orchestrated music, and more content.
That's all there is to it, really.

A fun game if and only if you play at the lower PVP ranks. As you go higher up people use meta decks and flowchart gameplay, and sometimes they play solitaire.

Game is not realistic enough. You cannot drive far off the road without crashing into an invisible wall.

My first version of this review was a Would Not Recommend, with the review simply being "Is your idea of a good action RPG where turning up the difficulty means having your AI controlled teammates sit and watch while you get pummeled on? Then Tales of Beseria is for you!" Having given the game an additional shot and beating the main story as well as sidequests, I would like to give a revision.

I like this game. A lot. The solution to avoiding being frustrated is to take the helm of all six characters and switch between them all fluidly. It takes good reflexes and a willingness to fail, but it's super fun when you get the hang of it.

The Good:
-Riveting and emotional story about the human condition and facing inner demons, even when knowing what happens next like I did.
-All six party members are likable and interact with each other well.
-Solid voice acting
-Rewarding combat system once you become knowledgeable with all six party members and use them in interchanging harmony.
-Unique and Dynamic RPG mechanics I have not seen in a game before.

The Bad:
-Voice acting can still be shaky at times. I remember one scene Velvet was talking about using a Geoboard and was mysteriously enraged, as though she was talking to the primary antagonist.
-The friendly AI in this game is bad. Really bad. This game could have used multiplayer to have friends join in instead, but opted not to. I've heard the AI is the best in any Tales game; I shudder at the thought of playing another one.
-Story has the occasional plot point that doesn't make sense and can be rife for parodying.
-Unlockable difficulties.
-The optional content unlocked after being the main story scales in difficulty dramtically. I know it is the extra content, but the game's rules are thrown out the window, and one hit knock outs are still not fun. This extra content has a hard time being hard and fair at the same time, which is weird because other parts of the game can be.

Despite my gripes, the game's positives outweigh the negatives by far. Easily the best game on Steam that has a definitive ending (as opposed to Team Fortress 2, which does not have a definitive ending). A bargain at any price. Get it.

I wanted to like Master of Orion: Conquer the Stars. I really did. I was a huge fan of MoO2, which this game receives heavy inspiration, but this game has one fatal flaw: the loading times. In MoO2, fighting computers made turns almost instantaneous. By around turn 300 in this game, you will spend as much time NOT playing the game as you do playing the game. I tried to finish this match through conquest, but I can't. The game feels too much like work, and issue I rarely had with the second entry in the series.
