So what's it about?
It's 3DMARK - a well-known test suite with the focus on 3D graphics.

The good
There are extensive graphical tests available for 3D testing. It's pretty and the demos are cool to show off your system. You can compare your score online with others that have a similar or more powerful (or weaker) system.

The not so good
For a test suite it would be great if you could also test the 2D aspects (which would be more for your screen than your GPU as it's been years ago that GPUs struggled with 2D). The interactive tests aren't so interactive: more like gimmicks. It advertises with "everything you need to test your PC's performance": I disagree - there are much better tools available for CPU, memory and disk tests. 3DMark is there to test the 3D abilities of your system which is mostly affected by your GPU and less by the other components.

Summary
I use 3DMARK mainly to test when I update or change some settings on my system. It's a great tool and it’s cool to see your previous results and how much more powerful your system has become over the years. I don't use it frequently so if you're like me you probably want to wait for a sale.
