RIP time

Been looking forward to Viewfinder since I saw the trailer and am so happy to say that it lives up to my expectations. It's rare that you see a game execute on its premise quite so well as this one, and despite being stuck right now I'm loving how much it's making me THINK. Great game.

It's stupid good. I love a rhythm game and this hits all the right notes. Customs help the longevity of the game but there's already such a generous amount of content here in the base game that they are by no means necessary.

I just bloody love this game.

In its current state I can't recommend Sons of the Forest. There's so much placeholder content that the game just feels empty. Base building has no purpose. The hunger/thirst system feels extremely basic and without punishment. Other than the first couple you find, caves/points of interest are clearly unfinished. If you like the look of this, do yourself a favour and buy/play the original The Forest game and check in on this after Early Access, which is what I now plan to do.

This game has the potential to be great, but is nowhere near where it needs to be. I sorely hope that I can revisit this review in the future and change it but it needs a lot of work. Don't buy it, play BFV or Halo Infinite instead.
