I can't write a long review to save my life but I'll say this, an FPS game like this comes once every 10 years. I really mean it.

This is such an innovative, fun game that you really need to try. It's free and whilst it leans more towards a competitive game, you can absolutely play this casually. If you're a creative player, you can absolutely thrive in this game's awesome sandbox as there's so many ways to play from classic gunning to going through the map like a bull in a china shop.

If you're worried that its free and theres a catch, the "catch" is that like 90% cosmetics you have to pay for but gameplay elements like guns, gadgets and classes are unlocked by just playing.

Try it, it's free :)

Strong recommendation.

Things I liked:

I really enjoyed this game, it was a short but enjoyable experience that wasn't too hard on my first playthrough and I like that there's a New Game+ with a first person mode, higher difficulty and some extra goodies.

I liked the location of the game, set in the UK, England was an interesting choice and I think it was a good one. I was immersed throughout my playthrough so big win.

The story was interesting but very vague, even with the notes & audio "logs" to find. I think expanding on that in the sequel (if there is one) will be cool to see.

The puzzle's also were fair, as someone that isn't too great with them, this was appreciated but might be a downsides for others.

The voice acting was good, there wasn't any performance that stood out as bad or that took me out of the immersion I was feeling. Really good in my opinion.

The graphics & design of the game I really liked. The lighting is good, the style is just gritty, low-ish quality settings and I think it adds to the games strengths as sometimes less is more which I think this game nails.

The price is also fair in my opinion, maybe a bit more things to find in the more open sections would have been cool to make exploration a bit more worth it but for a first try, really great overall package. Well done.

Things I would like the dev(s) to look at:

Floating props/trees, this is really noticeable in the park but I'd see geometry not aligning with trees or random floating gates that are easy to spot if you're just exploring. Just a bit of environmental polishing is needed to make things not look floaty.

Audio mixing needs a little fine tuning, sometimes the dialogue would get drowned out with music/environmental audio. (Mainly when answering the phone outside.)

The game's melee I really didn't like and maybe it's by design but there were times where I swung my weapon and felt like it should have connected only for it to NOT and I then get struck. Guns felt much nicer to use than melee because of this. (I did enjoy shooting the enemies though and appreciated the gore but just wished the melee wasn't as janky.)

Sometimes in the more open areas, I wasn't sure where I was going and though I found it, maybe a few more pointers such as some lights just to give you an idea that you're headed in the right direction. (Maybe I missed this and I'm wrong.)

Lastly, this might be an issue with me being on ultrawide (21:9) but sometimes when the camera was taken to another perspective, I'd see through a wall which was a bit immersion breaking. (Props for also fixing the ultrawide resolution issue within the day of it's release.)

The game has no ultrawide support which is a massive downer for me. Basically unplayable for me as I'm so used to ultrawide. Shame.

I had multiple issues just getting the game to show the Settings menu, after verifying the game files and downloading 10 files it then worked, was able to get into a game without an infinite loading screen.

The game then stuttered at the start which wasn't great then realised I'm playing a free to play game with some kind of catch.

Maybe it's a good game but with so many games out there, just play something else and not another F2P game that requires you to grind just to obtain the right to breathe oxygen or some shiz.

Even after the boys in blue update, this game still feels really flat, boring and undercooked.

The skills system in the game is boring when compared to Payday 2

The armour system in the game is just bad, its not fun and too punishing especially considering how uncommon armour plates are yet they still are doubling down on this flawed system.

The soundtrack in the game is fine but it really lacks the adrenaline and intensity of the prior games.

The colour palette of this game is bland, dull and boring. Graphically its good, nothing to complain about but the colour palette of the game makes this game feel more like a chore to play.

The UI sucks, its unclear if a weapon mod makes the weapon worse, better and so on. Also feels bland and bad to use.

Thats this game in a nutshell, it feels like a chore once the paint wears off, 7 months after release and this game still feels really bland and boring to play, I wouldn't even suggest getting this game on sale, unless they rework the skills, armour and content issues, the game just isn't worth nor respects your time.

I can't be bothered to make a more in-depth review but there are some positives:

Good animations all round
Good models (npcs)
Good voice acting
Good choice of masks & customizing of said masks
A solo mode that doesn't rely on connecting to the servers to play (should be a basic feature)

This game is one of the absolute peaks of gaming from almost every aspect, it's not a flawless game but it's a game that respects your time and more importantly, your wallet.

I'd like to give this game a proper go but the Epic Games inclusion is mildly annoying but what makes this unplayable for me is the lack of motion sickness features.

I can't up the FOV past 100, I can't turn off the camera shake that happens whenever you swing your weapons, the FOV changes depending on if you're sprinting etc. Just makes for a nauseous experience.

There might be a fun game underneath but the issues but I don't want to play a game whilst feeling dizzy and or sick.

The UI is really REALLY bad. Starting it up was an absolute mess and once you finally get into the game, if you're not a COD player already, steer clear away from this game. Aim assist reigns supreme.

I can't be bothered writing more of this review, don't buy this game, unless you can get it for less than £20, steer clear. £60 for this polished ♥♥♥♥ isn't worth it.

Whats the point of releasing it on Steam only for it to require a Battle.net account in order to play.

♥♥♥♥ off.
