There are lots of games I could pick, but I'd go with Skyrim, which I played a lot in my childhood. It's still one of my favorite games. I enjoyed it a lot and still do because of the amount of things you can do, like exploring its huge world. Its replayability is pretty much endless.
The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth is another one. I played it a lot since I was 9 years old and it's still among my favorites. Since that age and even right now, I always really liked games like that. It has a lot of content, synergies and fun, unexpected things can always happen in each run. Again, esentially endless replayability. Also, because it is a hard game. I like difficult games. It's satisfying to win runs wich characters like The Lost.
It had PvP, safezones, you could own a house, there were scams, I guess it was the truly first sandbox I've experienced. Many stories to tell :)
My childhood favorite was Prince of Persia, the old platform game, because I liked feeling like a hero saving a princess from a bad chap.
