Really interesting premise, and touches on a lot of complex subjects with finesse. Loved the soundtrack. It's a great mix of emotional and dreamy sci-fi goodness. I keep listening to tracks while thinking about the game days after finishing it. Voice acting was high quality, and felt 'natural' at the same time - got me invested in the characters, especially Watcher and the ALLMOTHER. The way the story threads are woven together is incredibly impressive. It's one of those situations where if it was mishandled, or put together clumsily, the whole plot would fall flat. But the game pulls it all together wonderfully. I think 1000xRESIST shines alongside recent games like Mouthwashing at proving how video games are able to confidently put their own stamp onto narrative culture. These games use unique story telling techniques that films or books are not able to present to the viewer.

Fascinating experience with great character exploration, and some clever little mechanics. Woven together in a disconcerting way that keeps you interested to find out what's going on. Visuals and art style are really unique and add to overall atmosphere. It's short enough that it almost feels like an interactive movie. This works well as its themes can hit you hard and fast, but never get too exhausting or overstay their welcome.

Constantly scary, stressful and immersive. Sound design and facial animations really sold the experience for me. Combat felt clunky and messy, but in a great way. I think this is a brilliant game - the only downsides I could add is that it felt a little too long, and the performance in some of the reflection-heavy areas was choppy.

I was a fan of Troy, especially in terms of presentation and some of the newer mechanics it introduced. I had quite enjoyed Pharaoh's mechanical depth, but it didn't quite have the breadth of scope in terms of faction diversity, or map scale, for me to really get stuck in.

Dynasties has become a surprisingly exciting mixture of those two worlds. I was honestly shocked that I could play Priam of Troy, and there was Hector and Paris, all of whom return with their unique voice acting from Troy itself. Not to mention the attention to detail in terms of the new factions sharing the music and other presentation factors that I had enjoyed so much from that game.

Without going heavily into mechanics - I think they're really good. Having played both WH3 and TK again recently, this is firmly in the TK spectrum of having many interesting options and actions for the player to take on the campaign map. Combat is slowed down quite a bit - we're not quite Rome 2's Divide et Impera level of pace, but I truly relish being able to make good use of flanking or other military tactics. I find myself being able to zoom in and watch soldiers clash together more. I also think lethality is very interesting, forcing me to be far more aware of dangerous units.

To me, the Sofia team had already proven that they're the ideas guys currently with Troy. They take 'risks' and try new things out, which sets them apart from the main team. In fact, many of their ideas end up in more popular titles. WH3 has scale and variety on its side, but I had been craving some more meat and focus. I think Pharaoh dynasties delivers that for me. What an exciting turn around.

Beautiful, immersive and rather brutal. Ridiculously fun moment-to-moment combat and just enough open world, without bogging you down with too many minor attractions.

The PC port is a welcome improvement to fidelity as well - frequently making me say, ‘wow’ at a scene when paired with high spec hardware and an oled/4k monitor.

An incredible assault on the senses. Put on a stereo headset and turn off the lights. Enthralling from start to finish, despite a few frustrating puzzles. Huge respect to Ninja Theory for their research and care put into portraying this pyschological experience. And all at such a reasonable price.
