Incredibly evocative art, extremely well-crafted exploration of a person's struggles with anxiety and self-doubt.

I'm not from Ecuador, but I am from a place that speaks the same language and was going through very similar times in the exact moment in time this game describes. I also grew up in very similar circumstances back home.

The way this game captures natural speech is nothing short of an achievement. I've never heard anyone replicate the sorts of conversations I had with my friends growing up like this. The accent isn't the same, but the cadence, the tone of voice, the way conversations flow. It all sounds like *I* was there. Like *I* experienced those things. It has completely blown me away and opened a new door for me, a new frontier in how dialogue can be captured.

If you know Shiren, you know what you're getting into.

If you don't: This is another game in the long lineage of Mystery Dungeon games, a take on the roguelike genre started way back in the early 90s by Spike Chunsoft. If all your exposure to roguelikes (specifically, turn-based dungeon crawling roguelikes) has been the western takes on it, Mystery Dungeon is a very refreshing perspective on it. It's a much faster pace than traditional roguelikes while keeping the very tactical nature of them intact. A small amount of metaprogression and a main story that progresses through different helps you along, but it's a hardcore dungeon crawler otherwise. Runs are fast and you have to pay attention to everything around you and make use of all of your tools to get through to the end.

My credentials in balls and ball-related video games give me enough authority to ascertain that this is, without a doubt, one of the best balls, and ball games, to ever grace a computer screen.

This is the best 4X in the market. I really like Civ VI, but Endless Legend has a variety in its gameplay and a visual style to it that has it completely beat years before.
