I don't know how good or bad this game was when it came out, but I heard tons of negative comments, especially about the absolutely atrocious grinding system. Well, playing it now I can tell you it must have been changed a lot, and I'm happy they gave us many updates. The game is nice and fun to play it in multiplayer. I think you shouldn't worry about the cheaters and hackers, they are everywhere, you can't avoid them. However, recreating and reliving some iconic battles, moments or fights always delivers. Also, I'm sad EA stopped to support it, I think this game has much more in it and could go even further.
Speaking about the single player campaign... I played it some years ago, and didn't really get me for the first time, nor the second time now. It's just badly written and boring. I liked some ideas, and can even appreciate that it connects with the new trilogy, but these things are not enough; not talking about the needless fan service.
Good choice if it's on sale.

Don't get deceived by the thumbs down; that is for the standalone price only. As part of the Premium Edition, I'd say it's an okay DLC, but if I had to pay 15 GBP, I would have been very disappointed. I appreciated that they completely rewrote the whole story of the "new" Chinese faction. I enjoyed reading about everything; this new "magical approach" worked well. The story and the characters are not the strongest suit of the experience; the campaign should have been longer, but overall enjoyable, and most of the levels were pretty good. And they even did a nice little surprise twist as well.
Also liked the Chinese faction, it's different than before, it's good to play it, but it needs a big balance, of course, for example, the Great Flood ability is too strong. Just as in the main game, I had bad anti-aliasing and slowly loading textures, which is not a big problem, but it can break the immersion.
I have the same overall feeling, just I had it with the main game: it's fine, but I expected more.

If I could, I would give a neutral vote this time, because even if I like some aspects of the game, I can't be happy with the rest. Let me start with a quick one - was it really necessary to make the Extended Edition's picture into black and white; the game is not dead!?
First things first, graphics look really nice, everything got new models and textures. We got a bit more vibrant and colorful scenery, yet it still reminds to the good old classic. The bad side is that the loading screens take much longer, and alas, textures often load too slowly. I met a few bugs and glitches as well in the main campaign. But, and this is a big "but", the demolition effects are superb.
The backbone of the music remained the same, and if I know this correctly, it has been rerecorded, probably reimagined as well. Unfortunately, I can't speak too shiny about the new voiceovers, even if it has been rerecorded after the first negative welcome of the players. I'm not blaming the voice actors, but there's a big gap in quality compared to the original - why did they feel the need to change something that was goood?
Finally, we have a higher population, yaay! And of course, we have new gameplay improvements, but I don't want to mention everything, even after several hours of playtime, I think I'm not fully aware of all of my options, which is perhaps a good thing, isn't it!? A few good examples: the new mythic age or the new system for the god powers is dawesome, while I still couldn't settle in for the new UI, and the pro-contra could go on. This doesn't mean everything is bad or wrong, of course, it's just a preference, perhaps. If they are keen to support the game, it can be really great and the legacy will continue... Fingers definitely crossed.
And if this review started some kind of an enumeration, I'll finish it in this style: I think the game still needs a better balance, including the difficulties and combat system. Some quests were super easy, while others were more challenging than they should have been. One of my bigger, if not the biggest, disappointments is that if I press the TAB button, I cannot see the map in a bigger size. I liked the new God (only for Premium Edition), Freyr, good for defensive players - being brave, why not add one more for each pantheon? I also liked the new "Mythical battles" - which was only one quest, and fits nicely into the main story. I really really would like to see more quests in that with future updates. Even if it wouldn't add anything to the already existing stories, I'm sure it would be a very warm and heartfelt welcome, because there are a lot of creative possibilities, so why not use what we have and do what we are good at?

It's worth the money, but I expected more.

Just quickly, because it just gives me a headache, this shouldn't be a payable DLC, but part of the game, simple as that. It's the old portraits of the gods, not new content, and you want me to pay for that, really? Even if the Premium Edition contains it, I just can't accept it.

It's everything you want from a DLC - new weapon, new storyline, new gameplay, new areas etc etc etc. Absolutely fun and banging, defintely worth the money. Also it was nice to see Ada's perpective during the events of the main game. Enough talk, go and play it.

I have already praised the original one, so I'm not taking too much time to tell how awesome that was, rather speak more about the modernized elements and remake segments. First of all, audio-visually looks really stunning, the RE Engine works very well. There's a lot of graphics settings, and the optimization is cool too. I don't have a high-end PC, but I was happy with my settings, and only a few cutscenes had a bit more annoying framedrops. I loved the new music tracks as well, got a nice dose of adrenalin when it needed.
Secondly, both the gameplay, and the story got modernized. The original screenplay had its own charm, and fit for its time, but had to change it due to other requirements. I understand the reasons, however I liked both. Certain elements take place in a different order, you can even find a fan favourite section in the Seperate Ways DLC. Some of them become shorter, while some of them have been expanded. After playing it, I think that's just a matter of taste. The lake around the village got bigger, while the castle area got cut here and there. I mostly liked the new adds on, on the other hand, I missed some classic scenes as well. They kept most of the original game's content, so don't get too frustrated.

Overall I enjoyed my experience, and can only recommend it.

Although some extra cash is always good and useful, can't really recommend and appreciate the fact that is a paid DLC, which I strongly believe should be part of the game. "Some of these treasures can only be obtained by this method."

The final adventure of the gamers' beloved Legend, Ezio Auditore Da Firenze. Although it has been years since I played it, I remember this was a good game back in the time - even if we got the same experience we could do over and over again. There were a lot of interesting and intriguing parts which I liked, such as the mysteries of Ezio and Desmond (I was disappointed with the story of Subject 16, I think their part was a big missed opportunity for the bigger plot), the memories of Altair, the beauty of Constantinople aka. "The Crossroads of the World" and Cappadocia, the touching and heartwarming ending, or the wonderful score from Jesper Kyd. I am glad he never really disappoints us.
Actually, I could go forward and talk about more pros and contras, but I don't think it is necessary, because if you played the previous instalments of Ezio, then you need to see his last epic adventure as well.

Requiescat in Pace, Ezio

“There are men who fear legends but there’s a man legends fear”

Wow, wicked little game, absolutely loved it! If we could get more like this nowadays... I'm constantly watching gaming news, lists etc., and sadly, this one is so underrated, yet it is a pure gem of the FPS genre. Not a long game (not everything has to be), you can finish the main story in around 5-6 hours, but those hours will be quality ones, I can assure you. Gameplay is super fun, the cell shading art style adds a nice kick, while the soundtracks are pumping your adrenaline into your veins, and even the story is nice as well, especially in the way Silas tells us. And if this wouldn't be enough, there's the arcade and duel modes too, which offer some cool and exciting challenges, or you can collect the remaining achives, if you like.

Time to saddle up.
