Changing to positive review because the crashing issue got patched. Great game overall! I love this franchise

$3 silly vampire game got a $2 DLC, surely I won't play for 230.9 hours. I'll get bored, right?

Oh my god. They released a finished product on launch??? Who does that nowadays??? ITS SO GOOD! AND BIG! AND DID I MENTION GOOD AND BIG?!

I finally hit the point where I can just play for fun instead of grinding specific things. Only 21 more days until the next expansion arrives and the grind starts all over again!

Fun

My first 20 minutes in this game told me enough for me to know I needed a refund. Let me detail those 20 minutes for you.

Minute 0: Boots in a horrible resolution (not bad in and of itself, but leads to bad things to come)

Minute 1: I move my mouse to click through the settings, and the position of the mouse desynched from where it was appearing on screen.

Minute 2: I eventually figure out that I need to aim an inch down and to the left if I want to click on a setting.

Minute 7: Starts with a VERY long unskipable cutscene in a bad resolution/framerate

Minute 15: I notice the controls are weird. It felt like there was a slight delay between moving the mouse and having Rico react.

Minute 20: I realized that every single thing in the entire game looked worse than Just Cause 3.

Don't get this game unless it goes on sale for sub $10

Forager calls itself the "idle game that you want to actively keep playing" but that cannot be further from the truth. And idle game implies that there are periods of time when nothing can be done, and that is certainly not the case for Forager. Except for the beginning of the game (first 20 mins when you only have 1 island unlocked), there is ALWAYS something to be doing. Making more fishing traps so you won't starve, crafting more furnaces so you can get resources more quickly, cramming 210931 lighthouses into one island to increase item yield by 837309879837%, or destroying every single tile of ground in the game and replacing it with wooden paths. This game is awesome.

If you like sniping llamas from 500m, get this game immediately.
