Early Access Review
Roguelike dungeon crawler with a lovecraftian flair.
=early access review= (build 7635)

Did you play Darksouls? Did you enjoy the difficulty but think to yourself "Gee, the only thing that would make this game better is if I had to start over every so often from the beginning?" Because if so, then you might enjoy Darkest Dungeon. This game is no joke difficult. Don't walk into it and get attached to your characters, they will die. When they do die, they're gone, for good. Not only that, the ones that do might be the lucky ones. A plethora of madness and pain await the never ending stream of new recruits that arrive every week by carriage into your cursed town.

The plot is pretty great and you can build up your town, allowing your fresh meat to possibly walk to their deaths slightly better equipped than the last group you sent to their deaths. Further more, even though I swore off early access games after the Spacebase DF-9 fiasco, I'm glad I didn't pass on this one. I find myself venturing into the maddening dark over and over, and gleefully awaiting each new update. With promises of new classes and 2 more dungeons, I forsee this being on my 'play' list for a while.

For the price, if you like roguelikes, oldschool D&D vibe, with a splash of Lovecraftian horror, you will not regret buying Darkest Dungeons.
