For me, one of my all time favorite games was Legend of Zelda on the NES. Binding of Isaac takes the feel of that original cartridge game and gives it a scatalogical overhaul. With a difficulty level approaching some of the toughest platformer and shooting games I've ever played, it's a serious game despite it's immature slant. The randomly generated dungeons lead you to earning meta-acheivments, meaning each time you play you aren't necessarily playing to win, but to unlock something for your next run.

The randomness of the game is a feature and also highly frustrating. Sometimes you get bad items on the first level or two, and you just know you have no chance to win that run. Yet you reset the game and keep playing.

Ultimately I find myself booting this game up more then any other steam game though. Despite it's difficulty I can play it for five minutes or five hours and I'm always treated to a great experience. If you don't have Binding of Isaac yet, you're missing out.
