I love Sandstorm, for an indie game it truly should serve as a role model for other FPS devs. I think this game easily is the most fun and best of its kind. However, I'm gonna have to leave a negative review based solely off of one crucial factor;
Bad optimization.

Even after the performance updates that people always point out when you mention this, it's still a problem for a huge amout of people.
This seems to mostly apply to AMD cards, but nvidia users (even with the top of the line cards) seem to have issues running this game without stutter and drops too. I'm on an rx 580 and finally get a good 100+ fps after more hours spent trying to fix the framerate than actually playing the game, trying every trick. I still get over a second long dips to sub 40 nearly 20 times per game, even after all these hours trying to fix it...
My friend with an RTX 2060 gets even worse framerate than I do, but our friend on a Vega 58 gets perfectly fine performance with little to no drops. I've even talked about this issue with people in game, having a guy with a 960 with no issues at all. Weird concidering how its an inferior card to all of the ones mentioned above.

This is a very unfortunate issue, especially concidering the overall quality of the game. It's still fun even with these performance issues, and honestly I do still recommend it. Howerver, this issue does need to get addressed, hence the thumbs down. I hope this will be resolved in the future so I can finally enjoy this fantastic game the way I should be doing.

very good bullet hell 8 bit-mmo. steam version is very badly optimized so i'd advice you to play on the official website instead (or get flash projector running).
