Dead by Daylight is a groundbreaking game with an atmosphere that pulls you in from the first match. The concept of 4 survivors facing off against one powerful killer is incredibly unique, and it keeps you on the edge of your seat every time. The roster of killers is a horror fan’s dream, bringing classic nightmares like Michael Myers and Freddy Krueger to life, while also introducing original characters that add fresh horrors to the mix. The survivors, each with their own backstories and play styles, bring just as much personality to the game, and the cosmetics are top-notch. It’s clear a lot of love has been put into the design—even if sometimes it leans a bit too heavily into "woke" themes, shifting the tone from pure horror to something a bit more commercial and competitive.

However, DBD has some notable drawbacks that can make or break the experience. The unbalanced game play, especially when dealing with "Survive with Friends" (SWF) groups, creates a frustrating experience for killers. When survivors team up, they have a huge advantage, which can make solo killers feel unfairly over matched. On the flip side, certain survivors and killers are equally entitled, leading to some intensely toxic game play on both sides. This is only worsened by the community’s general tone, especially from top streamers who, intentionally or not, foster a culture of bullying and witch-hunting.

Big names like Angry Pug, CMWinter, SupaAlf, Otz, Lilith Omen and Ochido have enormous influence, and while it’s great to see the DBD community supporting them with subs and donations, it can be frustrating to watch certain toxic attitudes take root and spread. It’s disheartening when players are harassed and targeted on- and off-stream by fans encouraged by a sense of entitlement and superiority. The developers really should step in with stronger accountability measures for this type of conduct, as it can ruin the game experience for many players. Watching these influential streamers encourage negativity (whether intentionally or through subtle hints) detracts from the game’s enjoyment and drives new players away.

Despite the unbalance and toxicity, Dead by Daylight is still one of the best multiplayer games out there with massive potential to go down in gaming history. The thrill of outsmarting a killer or turning the tables on an overconfident survivor makes every match unforgettable. With the right changes to balance game play and address the toxic elements in the community, Dead by Daylight could easily become an even better, more enjoyable experience for all types of players.

Destiny has always held a special place in the gaming world as a groundbreaking shooter that brought together thrilling combat, engaging lore, and a persistent online world. Bungie nailed the gameplay formula from day one, with gunplay that’s smooth, responsive, and downright addictive. The mix of PvE and PvP activities, coupled with immersive raids and intricate storylines, creates an experience that’s both dynamic and deeply rewarding. Veterans from Destiny 1 (D1) know how special those early days were, with unforgettable moments like the Vault of Glass raid or the rush of the Trials of Osiris.

However, Destiny has undeniably shifted from those roots, evolving into a game that feels increasingly like a money grab. Bungie’s relentless push for paid expansions, season passes, and premium cosmetics can feel excessive, especially for loyal players who have been there since D1. Features and content that felt like an essential part of Destiny's identity are now locked behind paywalls, which can feel like a slap in the face to players who’ve supported the game for years. Many longtime fans feel Bungie has left them in the dust, prioritizing new monetized content over respecting the dedication of its original player base.

Destiny’s move to vault and “retire” old content is also a sore spot for veteran players. Crucial story missions, raids, and locations from Destiny 1 are inaccessible, taking away the nostalgia and sense of progression that long-time players value. D1 veterans feel this loss deeply, as the legacy content they helped shape through years of engagement now seems discarded in favor of pushing the next big expansion or event. It’s disappointing to see elements that made Destiny unique and memorable given less respect in favor of the latest monetization push.

Even with these issues, Destiny remains an incredible game. Bungie continues to deliver some of the best FPS gameplay on the market, and the world-building, art design, and sheer scope of the Destiny universe are still unmatched. The raids are a testament to Bungie’s skill, each one a masterpiece of coordination and challenge. The game still has the potential to reclaim its soul, but it’ll take Bungie re-prioritizing player respect and revisiting the foundational values that made D1 a phenomenon. For now, Destiny is still a fantastic experience, but its legacy feels somewhat tarnished by the unfortunate shift toward monetization over loyalty.
