Early Access Review
If you're looking for another 4 player co-op game to play with your friends, this is what you're looking for.
Fitting perfectly in the list of games like Lef4Dead and Risk of Rain, this game is refreshingly simple to get into and can be played as fast or as slow paced as desired.

I love how little there is in the way of you getting into the game. You literally start it up, press the Any key, and you're ingame just like that, unless you leave the early access news in place.
I do dislike that I still have to press that Any key, IMHO it's a wart on the near-perfect 'get ingame instantly' they got done, but I can live with it, considering how well it works anyway.

And I love that they encourage you to go and try out things, with a wide variety of stuff to do, but at the same time don't expect it either; you CAN customize your character and upgrade it with some perks, smith new things, unlock features, but you don't have to if you're just looking to grind up 10-20 minutes on a run. You CAN customize how everything looks on your character, You CAN drink a wide variety of beers and unlock more, You CAN explore the base and find all the easter eggs, etc, but you don't have to. This makes the game very flexible for a wide range of audiences and IMHO that's a good thing for 4 player co-op party-ish games to play with your friends.

And it kind of doesn't end there? That's another thing it's pretty good at; There's an assistant bot that goes solely with you on Solo missions, and does not appear when there are other folks around. You can upgrade it and it has its own skill tree. This small addition makes it so much better because now suddenly this great co-op game is also a great singleplayer game.

All in all lots to love, and for the <15$ I got it I can only recommend it, 30 may be a little heavy, but then again I'm a cheapskate and this game does offer a ton of features.

It is definitely nit picking, but like when you have a perfect beautiful dress that allows me to get into the game quickly, then that nit is going to look like a big wart on the entirety of the dress, so to speak :P
they could've left it out but they didn't? instead I have to wait a few more seconds when I click before it comes up and the black fadeout stops, which sucks; just throw me ingame, you have that whole neat bedroom thing set up already, you already did away with the entirety of a start menu, but then you still feel like being obtuse and push the logo some more, which nobody asked for and looks like a giant wart in the middle of all those neat actions to make getting ingame smooth... it's just a huge waste of all those efforts and could totally do without, that would make it perfect imho

but I'm glad I convinced you to buy the game :) it is a decent game, just there's always room for improvement

What's wrong with pressing 'any' key. Does it really matter if there is one key to start the game or you have to press any key? that seems like needless nitpicking to me. Apart from that I enjoyed reading your review and you have convinced me to purchase the game for myself :)
