Just about the stickiest game I've ever played. Every mechanic is fully realized. This is all lean meat, no fat. Btw skipping the first two blinds is almost always worth it.

A thrilling and fast paced 2D platformer that never lets you get bored. Each level has a handful of new ideas for you to play with. The game is challenging, but never unfair. The music is so good that it outshines the music of the recent Bomb Rush Cyberfunk which was that game's biggest selling point. If I had to choose an 2023 indie title to invest your weekend into, it would be this one.

I've played Super Mario Bros. 3 and Super Mario World multiple times. I genuinely think this game stomps on both of those.

Extrapolates from the Hearthstone expansion singleplayer campaigns in the best way possible. Extensive work was put into the balance of the game, but it still allows you to break it. The base game easily has 100+ hours. If that isn't enough, then maybe the FREE Downfall expansion (which adds EIGHT playable characters) will keep you busy. Maybe the best game you can get for the price.

Game might as well open with a prompt that says "Made Possible with the power of the Google Search Engine". Information is actively obscured sometimes even in places you don't expect. The depth of the wand tinkering system will blow your mind. Most players will never even see a fraction of the world map. There could be a dissertation written on this game. You will die more frustrating deaths than you can imagine.

Video game crack. PopCap is legendary for the basic fact that they have made multiple games with the same addtictive design perfection as the original Tetris. For my money, this is their best.

An evolution of the roguelite genre that builds heavily on the core gameplay. Your character controls much better than competitors like Isaac or Gungeon. This lacks the engaging stage progression that Nuclear Throne has, but in exchange each "floor" has a much higher level of interactivity. The prey/hunter system with the bosses is a standout. Lots of charm in this. Looks from the outside to be "lmao so random", but it is actually very sincere in its quirky aesthetic.

Don't let the simplistic graphics scare you. The time that would've been given to developing an "art style" was instead directed to polishing out one of the best gameplay loops in the history of gaming. You will become addicted.

At the moment a decent roguelite experience. Will be child's play for veterans of the genre. If you're looking for a challenge you won't get it here. Interested in how this will grow with further updates.

Good metroidvania with heavy emphasis on block based puzzles. Not a "hard" game for the genre, but fun for the full playthrough.

What always baffled me about Borderland 2's advertising campaign was the focus on "how many guns you can get". As opposed to selling it on the (funny at the time) humor or the open world or the general creativity of the game, it focused on just one mechanic in a game with dozens that were far more compelling. The loot shooter is far from dead in 2022 especially with Destiny being so popular, but it has come a long way since the original Borderlands.

OMFG: One Million Fatal Guns is a particularly strong distillation of this looting mechanic mixed into the mobility set of V1. This cocktail is fast, creative, and goes down FAST. You will likely see everything is has to offer in a half hour. Sells at the best price: free.
