I couldn't force myself to finish this despite really enjoying the first Hand of Fate game. What defeated me was my own expectations. Rather than getting a really well realised next level up in the Hand of Fate series, this instead is really a well done Expansion/GOTY edition or free patch. The game is mechanically the exact same as the original with a few small added features (companions, adventure mode), slightly better graphics and obligatory new cards but past that, it's the same rigmarole. I would more than likely be looking to try a Hand of Fate 3 if one exists in the future but this just doesn't feel like a step up from the former.

Essentially all the game is the fishing/aquarium mechanics from the Animal Crossing Series done in a cutesy pixel art style and is extremely gay 🏳️‍🌈. You can customise your cat or dog and the island is relatively small. It's a great game to relax, fish and chat to new people on the internet, a great casual hang out game for the price. I look forward to further patches!

I was pretty excited to play this game, particularly after seeing the strong reviews and the trailer, but it never really reached the implied heights of weirdness and darkness. It's a fairly straightforward narrative corridor game about questioning the merits and logic of Christian faith in a time where religious belief was paramount inter cut with retro pixel art mini games and the occasional chase sequence and puzzle. The thing I most enjoyed was whoever at the studio acted as the director of photography in the cut-scenes planned them out to be very artistic and modern. The game isn't bad I was just left wanting more and feeling somewhat unsatisfied.

Early Access Review
Pay for your booster pack gambling addiction by running a shop on the side. Spray down fat nerds and watch as they come back every day complaining about the price of your stock and then buy your wares anyway. Get price gouged by the capitalistic system (a.k.a. the developers of the game) with exorbitant licensing fees to sell items that are worth a tenth of the license you pay. It's highly addictive and I have no idea how I've managed to spend 9 hours "running a shop" so far but the game play loop is tight and addictive. Once this game is out of Early Access with it proposed road map, I think this will be a gem of a game. If the developers can polish the graphic models so you can't see people's skin juddering out of their jackets or holding hands of cards through their heads, that would be awesome too.

Glory for the Emperor! This game a souls-like third person shooter version of what the old Call of Duty AAA releases used to be. A simple and plot heavy campaign, with variation and co-op/multiplayer play. The game is stunningly beautiful on max settings. if you can figure out parrying, blocking and dodging, the game is pretty straightforward. Don't sleep on the power of sniper rifles compared to other guns.
