IMPORTANT NOTE: the issues below I listed regarding connectivity seem to have been fixed, so I can finally in good conscience recommend this game, but I'll still leave my old review up below, with the only change being from not recommended to recommended.

I also played this with a decently sized friend group, and thus I've been able to play the game for real and can say it's a lot more fun than playing with strangers on public lobbies.

Whether you disregard said issues or not, however, is up to you.

This game can be lots of fun when you play it the optimal way. In fact, this review used to be positive for it. Thing is, ever since the Hide n Seek update, you can't play it the optimal way; the game is broken beyond belief and has so many glaring issues that it's impossible to play.

First of all, the most important: server-side issues. Playing in any given lobby is literally a time bomb that keeps on ticking, because at any time your ping can go up to the thousands and you get disconnected all of a sudden, instantly taking you out of the experience in an anti-climatic, frustrating way. To add salt to the injury, if you get disconnected too many times becuase of the game's fault, YOU get punished with a timeout.

Hide n Seek is buggy beyond belief, not in small part because of the connectivity issues that plague both it and classic mode. I just got out of a game where the impostor couldn't win because they clipped out of bounds and into the walls.

And all these issues aren't just exclusive to Hide n Seek, because they all carried over to Classic mode too. Classic mode is just buggy and unstable ever since the Hide n Seek update. You can't have fun playing this game because it won't last long until the servers implode and you get kicked out of any given match.

Before the Hide n Seek update none of those server-side issues were there.

The devs acknowledged this in the December 16th update. They only fixed one Hide n Seek bug. Servers are still in shambles. The update was 100 mb.

They went on a winter break without fixing anything.

This is straight up negligence. I can't recommend the game like this.
