In my eu4 games, I despise ottoman and mamluk to death. my Crusading spirit went on rage whenever I saw them. most of my playthrough as an European nation, I always strived to subjugate middle East and north Africa into Christianity. Thus genociding them converting their culture afterward. When engaging against major Islamic power, I always played powerwolf's Christ and combat and sabaton's (you know which one) and other deus vult songs while at it I was chanting some holy Latin phrase also. When the kebabs were finally removed, I ASAP made some anti islamic meme about it and posted it on Reddit or forum and proudly tagged all my friends like a proud Christian soldier. Then this friend of mine explained that it isn't islamophobia since after all it's only game and all my hatred is merely an unintentional meme attempt I forced upon myself to have real immersion of European medieval view back then just like the average eu4 community. I was so relieved when I heard it from him. Oh yeah I also hate muslims irl too
