Probably the only decent game in David Cage's library. My only complaint is Kara's storyline, I think just cutting it in order to flesh out Marcus and Connor would have been a net positive. "Why the negative review"? The game is terribly optimized. I expected issues and was immediately greeted with fps issues and I thought this isn't so bad but then came the crashes. The game crashes in the notorious Kara intro scene for me. I tried EVERYTHING to get this game to run, I have a pretty good PC and followed many of guides but nothing worked. I know, I really wanted to play this too but trust me, DON"T WASTE YOUR MONEY.

Early Access Review
Did I have fun, yes. Do I think this game is worth 20 usd, absolutely not. Maybe I'm just jaded at these early access games because I've gotten burnt so many times but this game was advertised as "more content coming soon" and it's been over a year. It took me about 8 hours on my first run which was on normal difficulty and I completed about 90% of what the game has to offer. If you think that's worth 20 usd then go for it but there are so many great games out there in early access that don't make broken promises e.g. Darkwood or Bloodstained. With that said the promise of more content is my main gripe. It's been over a year and the only difference is a UI change and "bug fixes" to a game that was imo was pretty polished on my first run which I played on release. Any skill that isn't combat related is completely useless, some of them add flavour text but that's it the dialogue changes nothing pretty much. I was so excited for this game and I had my eye on it before it came out but if I knew I was only gonna get about 8 hours with no new content down the road I would have never purchased it. I think waiting over a year to make a negative review about the lack of new content without update from the developer other than the sparse "it's coming" is more than generous

Edit after Dev response: Not sure if you'll be able to read this because I don't think Steam notifies on edited reviews but I'll leave it here anyway cause I want people to see this instead of leaving it on a community post. First and foremost I just wanted to say thanks for replying to me even if it was just to paint yourself in a better light, I'm not saying that it was. Most devs, especially indie ones, would probably not even bother with a negative review. I wasn't trying to say that the polished state of the game on release was a point of contention for me, rather I'm just left scratching my head wondering what has been going on this whole time. I didn't realize the game was on other platforms, I know that can be difficult to work with depending on the games code. It's a great game with some really interesting lore and I look forward to what's down the line but I stand by what I said, I just don't think it's worth 20 usd. Honestly this is why steam needs a "neutral" recommendation because I definitely don't think this a bad game at all. With all that said, don't let my words discourage you, just keep working on the game and move forward and use it as motivation. Thanks again for the reply =]

You're an idiot if you give any more money to this company.

I went from the kid getting made fun of for playing Daggerfall and Morrowind to the cool guy playing Oblivion, Fallout 3 and Skyrim, now I just shake my head at my friends playing Fallout 4, 76 and ESO. I'm at the point where I'm embarrassed to be part of this community. It's so soulless and money hungry now compared to what it used to be. I have A Lot of respect for this company, it's one of the few that treats their employees like actual human beings, I just wish it was the same for the rest of us. Maybe things will be different with Microsoft holding the leash but I don't think its gonna make too much of difference anytime soon. Tin foil hat theory time, I feel like Todd might retire after Starfield and maybe that's not such a bad thing but who's gonna replace him? Pete Hines? Lol ha.....okay

I will preface this by saying this game is INCREDIBLY difficult. Perhaps the most difficult game I have ever played.

None of the Soulsbourne/ Sekiro games come close. With that said I love this game and I can't believe how long I kept this in my backlog. After playing this game everything Fromsoft ever made is like a joke. The 2nd boss is a huge brick wall so be mindful of that. I don't want to spoil too much but I wanna say weapon choice seems very important. I chose very fast dual katanas and really like how I was to get in do some damage and roll out if necessary. I think any of the heavier weapons would leave me open to attack just because they are too slow.

It's a feudal Souls-like so you should already know what to expect as far as gameplay goes. The story is....okay? It's not bad but it just doesn't come close to the lore of Dark Souls and it's really hard to not make any comparisons as you're playing just cause the games are so similar.

As I said earlier this game can be extremely frustrating and sometimes seem unfair but after dying to the boss multiple times you begin to see the pattern and realize what the game expects of you.

My favourite game of all time. combat is turn based and i know thats gonna turn off some "casuals" so i thought i should get that out of the way first. Okay so, the main reason why i love this game is because its so f***ing immersive. I recommend playing through the game with no guides first time. you will get so much more out of it. It might not be a bad idea to at least look at a character build guide but if youre a masochist its really not that hard to figure it out what is and isnt gonna work. Its the end of the world, society has collapsed and its probably a bad idea to start your character off trying to use energy weapons or big guns. I recommend a sniper build because the potential damage with crits is insane. I really could go on forever about this game but i dont want spoil the experience for anyone. This game is hard and youre gonna make mistakes but just go with the flow and dont worry about a "perfect" playthrough. 10/10 best game ever and an important part of my childhood. Yes im biased and i dont care =P buy it now
