Starts on year 1444 as close as possible to historical map, where you can play literally any nation from powerhouses like France or Ottoman empire to one province states like japanese daimyo or HRE duchy. There isn't any particular objective, it's more like a sandbox. AI here is really good and every playthrough is gonna be different.

It's a bit tough to learn at first, but once you get it it's an infinite fun. I played it first somewhere in 2014 and still keep coming back from time to time. If you like complex strategy games, then I recommend this game.
