The game is pretty fun, but I dislike the mission "soft" timers. They aren't technically failure timers, but on later difficulties where there's too many armored enemies, you may want to give up if you don't have the Quasar equipped, since you can't use any strategems, resupply ammo, or respawn teammates after the timer is up. (You can find ammo in the field, and loot anything you already called in) After playing a while, I've gotten used to it, and started budgeting time accordingly. Be careful in public lobbies, though, as since it's a "soft" timer, some Pub groups will decide that getting every single research sample on the map is more important than completing the mission on time.

Another concern with Pub games is that there's a lack of opportunities to communicate what equipment to bring during loadout select. The chat window doesn't seem to work in loadout screen, so you may want to dust off your microphone if you want everyone on the same page. (see research samples issue above) It's weird because text chat works when you're walking around before loadout, and it works inside levels, just not at loadout select.

One nitpicky thing I cannot stress enough is that the game is ALL about Strategems and heavy weapons. After difficulty 3, you'll start seeing armored "heavy" enemies (not to be confused with "armored" enemies), and most regular weapons can only injure them on tiny weak spots or take a long time to kill them. After difficulty 6, the armored enemies come in such large waves that sometimes it's not worth bothering using regular weapons on them just due to either the damage output or the accuracy needed to quickly destroy weak spots on multiple armored enemies all attacking you.

Another thing is that if you're coming from the first game, they haven't added the APC, HAV, nor Tank Destroyer yet, which makes me sad. Hopefully they get added some time soon.

This game has a medium skill floor and a very high skill ceiling. The tutorial doesn't tell you everything you need to know about the game, and figuring it out yourself is part of the fun of the game. It doesn't even tell you all the controls you'll need to play.
I won't spoil too much, but Make Sure you know how to switch between first and third person, since the sniper rifle ONLY scopes in when you're in FIRST PERSON mode!
I recommend rebinding Strategem select keys to not be input keys when you're playing later difficulties. I use number pad with my mouse hand.
