I've played many, many games in my lifetime. In writing this I can truly say, there is no game I've ever played that matches the wonder of this gem.

Outer Wilds will fill you with a sense of amazement as its unconventional game design changes the way you view how video games should be made and played, at least it did for me.

The journey is something to be cherished, and yes, everyone else is right: In talking about this game, I risk jeopardizing what makes it so special. It's that unique. Nobody is making games like this, and I highly recommend you play it. This is easily a top 3 of all-time for me.

As for the ending, I... ugh it hurts even thinking about it. It's so beautiful that it genuinely almost made me cry. It's funny, I say all this, yet I almost never beat the game to begin with.

My journey with it was one that almost wasn't completed. After only a couple of hours, I almost gave up and stopped - I couldn't quite figure out the point or goal of the journey. I was also just plain stuck.

After uninstalling, there was a nagging feeling that I was missing something. How can this game be talked about in such a high regard, did I miss something? As a self proclaimed student of video games, I had to understand what the point was and what I was missing. Surely enough, that was the right decision.

There was point in which it all finally clicked and the game got its hooks on me, and little did I realize how enamored and caught into the mystery and world of this game I was about to be in.

This is a truly a revolutionary game, during a time where so many games feel either the same, or unique but dull. My journey with The Outer Wilds is something I will never forget.

The only thing bad I can say about it is that you can only truly experience it once.
