If you're a fan of AI: The Somnium Files, you'll enjoy this game as well most likely. Basically imagine escape rooms but there are actual lives on the line, as well as amazing plot twists.

However, if you do plan to play, consider emulating the DS version of 999 instead of playing the port unless you don't want to go through the effort. The port does some changes to the story, gameplay (such as the ADV/NOVEL mode that I'm not a fan of), and visuals (character portraits are upscaled which look weird compared to the DS version.) Yes, the port does have voice-acting and QoL stuff but I like the original 999 more. You may need a little guidance for the DS version as there isn't a flowchart and there is one puzzle in particular that's complete bs but other than that you might like the DS version more than the port, but that's my opinion.

Other than that, I've had no problems with the VLR port, mainly since the game came out on 3DS and used 3D visuals so it looks better than the 999 port. I don't speak from experience compared to 999 as I no longer own a 3DS and heard this game is hard to emulate, but I've enjoyed this port and don't see any concerns with it that I need to point out.

A word of caution, don't be curious like me and look up the characters on the wiki as they may appear in the other games in the Zero Escape series and be spoilers. Avoid all spoilers if possible until you completed all the games as this series relies on you being blind.

i was so addicted that i went through 2 playthroughs and all achievements in 2 weeks and now im actively trying to avoid doing a 3rd one with mods it's that addicting

edit: still no mods and doing a 3rd and maybe more playthroughs now that phantom liberty is out and it's still addicting

This game is so awesome that I 100%'d it and still playing it for the GMGoW difficulty and NG+ stuff. It's that good, now I just need Ragnarok on PC (hopefully in 6 months to a year since exclusivity very likely and not 4 years for this.) Then I'm set.

im enjoying so far, only complaint is that you can't disable the virtual crouching, so when crouching irl you dont actually crouch ingame sometimes which can be very annoying depending on the mode, but im sure there will be a patch or hotfix to disable this or make it more accurate.

Edit: now that i've made a few mods for bonelabs i can say that if you're interested in modding/at least downloading mods then this game is awesome, also you can now disable virtual crouching by editing your save json file to say false instead of true so game is more awesome

As someone who started playing this after attempting to 100% a beat-em-up where you can smash people's face in with a soda can, this was an amazing change of pace. So much so that I did all achievements for this game. Amazing story, action sequences, and twists. And I recommend it even more if it's on sale if you're into visual novels or this is your first one and are interested in trying the genre out (like me). Later on when I'm not broke I'll maybe play the Zero Escape games and definitely AI's "sequel", nirvanA Initiative.

TL;DR If you're into visual novels or are interested in playing one, this is definitely the way to go to me. Even more if it's on sale if you're broke like me.

This is a nice little playable tech demo distraction even if you don't have a Steam Deck, I honestly really like how PC users can play as long as they have a controller on them. Unfortunately, there are eggheads (at least looking from reviews here) that think this was a portal successor or wanted keyboard support. This is a tech demo demonstrating the Steam Deck's controls & power, this isn't intended to be a full game and never was I'm sure. But if you have a controller and a PC that matches or beats the Steam Deck's performance (or just a Steam Deck), then you'll have fun with this. It's a perfect introduction to the Steam Deck.

Game's pretty fun & difficult (especially on Merciless), story is pretty cool but may be confusing for those who haven't played or watched the first 9 months of Persona 5 Royal. Game crashed a couple times (only at cutscene transitions) but it was rare and I believe these have been fixed with the recent beta hotfix, along with problems other players were having when the game launched such as the major "black screen" bug I've heard. Luckily I never was hit with it or any other major bugs. I think in my opinion Atlus did a great job with the release of Persona 5 Strikers on Steam.

I 100%'d Persona 4 Golden a little before this came out early. And a little while ago I 100%'d this.

Now we just need a Persona 5 Royal port so I don't have to deal with the inferior version on a console released almost a decade and a half ago, I already have over 400 hours on a New Game+ save on it anyways.

I can't wait to try out the SMT III: Nocturne remaster once I get the chance to.
