So, before anything else i will clarify that when i play these types of games i avoid PVP aspect and focus on enjoying campaing or modded scenarios, i started at MOWAS 2, craving for more i even ventured out for Call to arms: Gates of hell, loved both of these games.

but Men of War 2... just feels wrong, The AI just feels neutered... it feels like they just cant do anything without you micro managing their every single move as an example, i moved my infantry up to push a castle, i moved them behind cover and there was this singular enemy soldier just shooting at them, he wasnt out of range or anything but my guys just sat there... i know you can tell them to hold fire but none of that was enabled... they just sat there unresponsive slowly getting picked off... in MOWAS 2 or even gates of hells i played numerous hours, and if something like this happened, it was rare... here? i struggle and am legit frustrated at the AI every step of the way...

then it feels like stuff is just missing, i for the live of me couldnt figure out how to change game speed, since this game is oh so reliant on micro managing, then it would make sense to give my self just a little time to react and observe if my push is going wrong somewhere, but i just couldnt find this feature...

next up vehicle HP, in both affermentioned games there were no visible HP bars on vehicles, and it didnt feel like they had hidden HP either, either modules or the crew got killed, sometimes the armor would be too strong so you had to ennact an alternate aproach to take down a certain tough cookie...
Here it feels like the game is just trying to imitate that aspect, i have never once seen any tank deflect a round, either crew dies or hp goes down... it just doesnt feel like armor works at all in this game...

so Infantry is brain dead, so unless you wanna loose all of them you cant push ahead of the tanks... and the tanks just feel wrong to use... and feel like they take damage even when they shouldnt...

honestly try to look into this game in a year or two see if things improve but right now... i just feel sadness and misery playing this game... cannot recommend...

the game has serious pressing issues that need fixing As Soon As Possible, yet the devs seem to be focusing on releasing DLCs or less pressing issues
the lobbys are under-baked, you cant do basic things like an un-ready button
the Heists are un-fun (standing in circles is fun right guys?!?)

there is nothing to do aside from the main objective > remember in pd2 when you could bring a saw or ECMs to open ATMs that can be on certain maps? bring Trip mines to open doors faster? it feels like a downgrade... and the fact that the devs are not fixing it makes it only more frustrating

Medic bag update thats being worked on as of writing this review appears to be focusing on progression and mask of the week...? not a mention of lobbys being re-worked, not a mention of heists being re-worked...

if you havent bought this game yet do your self a favor and DONT, until these devs get their priorities straight avoid this game like the plague

Edit: i have tried to boot up the game after a long break on 20.6/2024 shortly after operation medic back came in, tried one of the heists on stealth > lost connection to lobby loosing all progress > Alt + F4 > ♥♥♥♥ this ♥♥♥♥

**multiplayer**: very fun with friends, wether you are trying to replicate legit swat tactics or doing it your own scuffed way.

the controls arent bad, however the mobility is needlessly nerfed imo, they dont allow you to jump.

your loadouts are very customizeable, you can choose to sacrifice armor in favor of more deployable or ammo. you can choose armor materials which affect your acceleration and what happens when you get hit.

weapon customization isnt as up to speed as i would wish, as an example its pretty common to have combined module that acts as a flash light and a laser 2in1 in this game you can only choose one or the other.

even joining randoms isnt that bad had a bunch of fun joining on strangers

**single player**: the premise is simple > same as single player but friendly AI tries to fill the space of real players.

then why is it 100 times more frustrating then its multi player counterpart?
for me its the fact that you cant restart missions...
you loose a mission and then you are forced back to the police station and watch your bots have a mental break down or quiting the job so that you have to replace them and then you have to sellect the mission again and go on it again, man i dont give a f*** just give me the option to get right back in after a fail without wasting time, i would straight up start alt + F4ring and quiting the game outright after every loss cuz i didnt wanna deal with this ♥♥♥♥...

i get that they tried to make the single player distinguished from multiplayer, but this aint it chief, i felt like having an enurysm playing single player but had a hell of a time with friends. completely different pollar oposite results...

i would honestly rather just host a solo multiplayer session for a better single player experience then this

i would give this game a try if you got 50 euro that you got no idea what to do with, but take my word and dont go alone into this game 2 other friends minimum idealy 3 and more.

bought this game to see what all the fuss was about back then
the AI is simply brain dead, the civs running around aimlessly instead of seeking safety in the form of baricading them selves or even hiding..
and as for armed people the smartest thing you will see them do is trying to flank you....
similar to postal 2 but in that game you can at least interact in different ways and do different things then just trying to gun down everything you see...
sitting here trying to think of positives... i guess its edgy...? idfk i got nothing, i am in the minority here but i simply just didnt have a good time trying to play this...

bloody good game in co-op
if you want a single player game? then perhaps this is just not it for you then.

plenty of funny moments to be had, with the in game proximity voice chat, so do your self a favor, get some friends and get this game its not even 10 euro very much worth.

One of the best RPGM erotic games, naturally on steam you gotta find a patch for it in order to enjoy the intended experience, but it's well worth the money once you do.

I aprticularly enjoy the corruptible nature of the protagonist, and how they fall the more they fail.

If you however don't enjoy playing as corruptible girls that get violeted then perhaps this is not the game for you.

Review written on the 1.0 version of the game:

exploit: as of 1.0 its still too easy to abuse outpost AI with husk eggs without re-precussions.
you can just grab most outpost npcs, and force feed them eggs. and then once the husk has been dealt with you can grab the corpse, drag it to your sub or secluded space of the outpost, and loot everything from it without anyone noticing (this includes the captains keycard of the outpost for example to get easy acess into secure steel cabinet, the contents of which are often of more value then the husk eggs you used to get it) not to mention that its too easy for a husk infection to completely take over a station, as the station has a single way to prevent it... a handful of guards, if those are infected then the station is pretty much screwed. and even when dealing with a single husk they arent too smart about it either, usually 2 or more guards gang up on a incapacated husk to fully kill it. this would be fine, except there is friendly fire enabled and they usually end up shanking each other instead of the husk... easy fix probably just make only 1 guard go melee and make the rest watch or disable friendly fire for outpost npcs. also medics have no way to diagnose husk infection and treat it... so these pretty dumb guards is the only thing standing between a husk take over... ofcorse a husk take over should still be possible but it shouldnt take just 1 guy becoming infected for the whole outpost to fall within 15 minutes. If things go terribly wrong.

What i take issue with: the bots aim with submarine guns is absolutely terrible, they arent able to lead their shots so unless a crawler is heading straight at them they will miss every single shot (this should change with weapons skills, but doesnt.) a 100 weapons skills guard bot will perform about the same as 20 weapons skills assistant bot both of them making short work of your ammunition stock piles whether you want them to or not. > devs mentioned for the next update for bots to be adressed so i am hoping for this to be fixed

the ending:I havent seen the original ending before 1.0 but i liked this ending, absolutely unique area that defies logic. Not to mention the boss. the one who sings or whatever xd.
i absolutely love newgame+ options, but perhaps in this game it could use some work. what about unlockable bonuses that you can unlock each time you reach the ending? for example a bonus for +20% skill gain that you can activate on your next new game? or how about a difficulty option? for example all enemies becoming armored and you need to shoot at weakspots even for crawlers to not waste ammo (ofcorse making all these bonuses/difficulty enhancers optional so that every player can tailor their own experience)

otherwise an amazing game, i enjoy both single player or coop. with a wonderful modding option. the price is a little out there, but if there is a sale i would perhaps recomend this game to anyone with a group of friends to try out.

So this is a back rooms game with multiplayer, not that unusual as i can recall at least 1 more game with the same premise.

I have been watching this game for some time, owned it for some time. But didnt decide to play it until a recent big update that fixed alot of frustrating aspects of the game.

My first play though was on easy but then i replayed it again on normal.

i only played this level as a multiplayer experience so i shall talk about it as such

*Spoilers beyond this point*
This game contain multiple Levels from the back rooms concept, i am not that versed in the backrooms lore to tell you if these locations are accurate, however gameplay wise you get a varied experience as monsters/dangers change per room
some being even impossible to die in as even sanity loss gets disabled.

The challenges:
-progression on each level is usually simple and varies between "wheres the exit? Oh well i better go find it/reach it" and "ah heres the exit, but it appears to be closed... Oh well i better do something for it to open"
-There are different kinds of monsters that populate each level each with their ways to deal with them

The game has 4 difficulties Easy Normal Hard and Nightmare in multiplayer they are significant jumps in difficulty

*easy- basically removes survival aspects like needing to use almond water to keep your sanity up, also requires only 1 person to reach a scene change for the entire crew to get teleported over in contrast if everyone dies you only restart the level you are currently on. a very forgiving experience well suited for players new to horror or new to games in general
*normal- reintroduces sanity depletion back into the game making almond water have a use again limiting you from dilly dallying too much as eventually you will run out and lack of sanity will kill you. Finishing a level is a little different compared to easy as all players need to be present in a level changer for you to progress (you can just die once someone reaches an exit however the items you loose may proove too valuable to loose). The recomended experience as this difficulty prohibits players from stalling too much,
*hard- cant say much other then remembering the describtion, the losing condition changes on hard as 1 player dying counts as a game over and even if everyone else is alive, they are sent to the beginning of a level anyway. I imagine this to be a frustrating experience as everyone needs to be on the same skill level as weak links will be felt HARD.
*nightmare- same concept as hard, HOWEVER instead of being teleported to the beginning of a level, the whole squad gets teleported to the beginning OF THE GAME, dont imagine my self playing this difficulty ever.

My gripes:
-I personally dislike the mimic as they dont make any sound while not being disguised as a hazmat man or unless they are already chasing you, this is acceptable in the garage where you first encounter them as you can see them miles away however in terror hotel where you have to walk around corners i find them frustrating to deal with, i am well aware of the lean gimmick, but i would much prefer sound to realiably locate them.
-some levels simply lack items on the moth level i could not locate a single can of almond water which would make it helish if i had none prior to starting the level

My favorite part: i really liked the dark location at almost the end of the game with the scanner, on normal there was simply no threat as you werent racing against sanity loss but may become more challenging as the shadow monster lingers around some areas

overall its game got a scream from me and quite a bit of jumps, if you are looking for something to play with friends then perhaps give this game a try.

in the end this game follows a similar patern as DL 1 not good at launch improves over time.
The new DLC was a good addition so i am looking forward to things that have yet to come for this game. for me its a easy recomment as i am a loot goblin at heart and getting stuff in this game tickles that itch just the right way...
