ZpellCatz released about a week ago. Once you get past the tutorial dungeon it escalates and opens up at a fairly rapid pace. It's a simple top-down looter shooter with proc-gen dungeons but the constant dopamine hits is surprisingly addictive.

ZpellCatz is a fun dungeon crawling looter-shooter. The graphics are cute and child-friendly although the game itself is surprisingly generic. But executed well - combat is fun, plenty of variety.

Nova-Box has just released fantastic new visual novel, Echoes. The murder mystery will keep you guessing until the end - but the story doesn't stop there. There's choice and consequence, although some if it's well-hidden. It's high quality work - the writing & artwork is great.

Echoes is a visual novel that starts as a detective murder mystery but unfolds into a dark supernatural government conspiracy. It's very well written and the art style perfectly fits the mood.

Check and Slash is not what you'd think. It's essentially realtime hack-and-slash (except the baddies shoot) with some rogue elements. It's a bit grindy and repetitive but the boss fights are decent.

Uncultured Games have outdone themselves with new release Whispers in the Moss. Ultimately, it's a JRPG. The ANSI/ASCII + text UI style is reminiscent of generational games but absolutely impressive in its execution. The scope of the game is just as impressive.

Whispers in the Moss is a fairly traditional JRPG but with retro text-based UI. Interesting characters, decently writing, interesting locations to visit, and the ANSI/ASCII art is impressive.

The Last WarMage could use a little more polish but it's a lot of fun. Essentially tapper but with weapon & enemy variety, ammo management and dynamic controls. Thoughtful and can get hectic.

Last Warmage released today! It's essentially a complex "Tapper" game. You'll need to rapidly cycle through weapons to maximise efficiency against a range of enemies as ammo management is key. Also requires dual control to collect pickups. Pretty cool game.

Archaeogem is a tough precision platformer with a steep learning curve. You'll need thick skin to beat this one - working out some of the challenges requires not only fast reflexes but planning and trial & error. Prepare to die, a lot.

Archaeogem looks good and plays smooth even if the whip mechanic is a little counter-intuitive. It's a challenging precision platformer with huge levels that require both thought and reflexes to beat.

Songs of Conquest finally released into 1.0 a few days ago. I jumped straight into the campaign and I'm loving it. It's an impressive homage to HoMM, full of nostalgia, while featuring enough subtle but key differences - lore, story, factions, mechanics - that it stands up on its own. Love the campaign & aesthetics.

Citadel Stormer 2 feels like a 90s retro shooter - right down to level unlock passwords. The levels are huge and there's a good range of enemies, weapons, and platforming challenges - and the combination makes for a real challenge.

Citadel Stormer is an exceptional retro-style shooter. Never mind the cute kiddy graphics, this is a challenging game with ammo management and platforming. Very fun, reminds me of Commander Keen.

Parkour Legends is a superb platformer. It's huge (250 levels!) and each "world" has a different focus- big drops, sky running, grabbing and flipping, it's never boring. And each level has tons of challenges to strive for. Love the super interactive control layout.

Parkour Legends is an exceptional platformer that makes the most of the sport it mimics. Run, slide, crawl, jump, grab, flip - timing is crucial and the controls are well thought out. Fast-paced fun.

Fay's Factory is a gem. An RPG at heart, packed full of meaningful choice & consequence. Features top shelf low poly art, unique setting pivotal to the story, and an unusual & innovative combat system.

Fay's Factory is bloody excellent. Honestly, the game's trailer does it no justice at all. It's an RPG with a surprising level of choice & consequence, and a bizarre but well-written and engaging socio-political story set during a unique magic/industrial revolution.
