Always loved this game. Up until the last update I would have given it a 5/5
But the most recent updates have ruined the entire experience.
Finding hydration is almost impossible as you are no longer able to reuse jars you drink from. You can only find drinks or craft them. Even drinking from a jar of water results in the player just eating the entire glass jar along with the contents.

While not game breaking its annoying and takes away immersion, so much so that I refuse to play the game anymore, and I'm leaving a negative review until its fixed.

Such an amazing game. Its anything you could ever want in a survial game. Thats not to say its without its faults, but lets start with the positives.

Positives
This game has amazing pixel art. Each element of it was so carfully and wonderfully crafted, I have yet to see a mishapen, weird, or unclear sprite in the game. The backrounds are astonashing for each planet, I can only imagine how much time went into the art of this game.

Now lets talk about gameplay. I love the fighting mechanic, it requires more skill that most pixel games such as terraria as its not just constant swinging of a sword that only does one thing, and this is credited to all the power moves that EACH individual weapon comes with. With each different power move for a weapon in the game it adds a whole new way of fighting and strategizing.
It has a decent amount of flow, your character isnt to slow and you can upgrade your suit power module to help you along in the game, and recieving these upgrades is always rewarding.
The Mechs are a wonderful new adition to the game aswell, they opened up a whole new world of exporation and a whole new way to play the game. I just wish you could explore space more easily without it, like maybe a propulsion pack/jet pack type thing?
I always feel like collecting and eating food is overdone in video games, but in this game its so easy to go out and kill a monster for some steak and just eat that, its hardly even a problem. Which is why I enjoy the hunger mechanic in this game more than any other game with the mechanic, your not ALWAYS searching for food spending 80% of your time on scavenging like most hunger mechanic games.

Now lets get on to the bosses, im not gonna spoil the story (which is amazing btw) but these bosses are amazing, excluding the final boss which I will talk about when I get to the negatives of this game. Each boss is so creative and I just love fighting them. I wish there was more bosses, if theres one thing I love in a game its an abundance of bosses. Maybe make randomly generated bosses? That would be amazing.

Completely aside from the rest of the game you have the ability to create your own civilization! Colonize a planet! Now if that isnt a reason to buy this game on its own, then I dont know what is!

And last but MOST CERTANLY not least, the soundtrack... THE SOUNDTRACK! This soundtrack is so amazing! When we talk about good 2D game music everyone is already to give Undertale that big old handjob. But in my opinion this games soundtrack dwarfs it 1000x.

You got farming, mining, dungeon crawling, enemy farming, money collecting, item buying/trading, mercenary killing, planet destroying, panguin punching action! What more could you want!

Now this wasnt easy to write.... but here are the negatives of this game (believe me I tried my damn hardest to think of some, this game is just so good, its hard to find any)

Negatives

So one of the major issues I have had with this game is the generation of solar systems and space exploration, I feel like there isnt enough veriety, I wish there were galaxies, not just solar systems, black holes, worm holes, novas and all. That is what I want most in this game. I also wish they would fix the solar system generation system, get rid of the whole "hot star, cold star, radioactive star" bullcrap and just make stars with different heat and radiation varients.
Fix up the planets spawning, you can have a cold planet literally RIGHT ontop of the star ITSELF and then just a hot jungle planet like at the edge of the solar system, that obviously isnt very accurate. Maybe make it more realistic? Idk just an option!

The final boss needs to be reworked, he wasnt hard enough compared to all the other bosses. They need to make it less easy to over prepare for bosses, you have no idea how many times I have been disapointed by going into a boss I was super excited for only for it to die in like 30 seconds of battle.

this game NEEDS more types of randomly generated quests! Make some quests where you have to go off planet, or travel to a different solar system. Enough with all these "Find my buddy" quests. Literally 60% of the quests I get on random planets are some guy losing his buddy and asking me to find them, like seriously, are all the npc's in the ENTIRE universe just completely clueless of their surroundings? Its like EVERYONE is lost!

There arent enough dungeons.... thats really all I can say, I want more big dungeons with more mystery and difficulty.

The game is lacking in the choice department, You should be able to carve your own path more, like if you wanna be the bad guy instead of the good guy!
(side note make it so you can become a evil space lord (or a good one) and go around blowing up planets for funzies

HOWEVER one of my BIGGEST complaints about this game is how ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ underated it is. Seriously buy this game, its wonderful.


And that concludes my review, I havent found many good ones that cover all these topics so I decided to write this, I hope this helps form you decide if you want this game or not, and hopefully you do, I cant recommend it enough.
And I also hope my feedback helps the devolpers (if they read this) furthen the progress of this amazing game!

One of my new favorite games, I have recomended it to all my friends. 9/10
