Magnificent.

This is my first time playing through the original Half-Life, after playing the sequel many times. I gotta say this game is fantastic, Crowbar Collective definitely gave this remake a lot of love and it's shown through this entire game. Graphics are superb taking the aesthetic from the original 1998 release and improving them for a newer generation of gamers. Controls are buttery smooth...when it comes to shooting. Pulling headshots with a magnum is a joy not topped by much else. Platforming on the other hand, is a pretty rough and sadly you'll be doing a lot of that through the course of this game. Gameplay/Story still stands the test of time, it's obvious that games today are still drawing inspiration from the non-linear environmental story telling that is on display in this game, and is still a backbone of games storytelling today.

Overall:
Fantastic gun play, engrossing story, great updated graphics. Falls flat on the many and annoying platforming sections, but doesn't greatly impact the fun to be had with this game.
PS: I know the game is incomplete, missing the last threeish chapters that take place in the alien world of Xen, from what I've read Crowbar is working on a complete redux of the content as it was a massive mess of platforming. No exact date on the content, but I can assure the content will only make me happier to get back into the Half-Life universe and won't detract from my opinion.
