Honestly, I can't recommend this game enough. It's brilliant storytelling, and not to mention the most insane use of UE4 engine I've ever seen. Play it. Love it. Oh, and you can pet the phoenix and other cute puppies that you raise!! 'Nuff said.

Loved Hades I - So far, nearly 30 hours into EA, loving this as much. Yes, there are clearly things not completed, this is after all a new early access title at the time of this review, but there is enough content and gameplay loops to keep just about anyone busy for a lot more than 30 hours. The game, just like the first one, has a diverse and more often than not hilarious cast of characters, made great by the voice acting and remarkable SuperGiantGames art style.

I warmly recommend the game, even as an EA title, for anyone who enjoyed Hades I. If you haven't played Hades I, I recommend you buy both games, and start with Hades I and work your way to this one. That will give you more bang for your buck than just about any other combination of rogue like games.

Old game but still kept alive by dedicated devs and modding community. Can't wait to see the new mods coming out now that the game is 64-bit and can use more ram.

That aside, yes, some bugs, some weirdness and odd&missing controls, but big picture?

Yes.

Enjoying it a lot. Still haven't finished campaign, but so far I am enjoying the lore, the characters and the gameplay.

So, disclaimer over and done with, lets get down to the nitty gritty. Are you a fan of Dune (Especially books)? Are you a fan of 4X? Then this game, even in it's current state is something you should give a try! Easily one of the most playable and polished early access titles I've had the pleasure of playing.

PROS:
1. Very polished for an early access game. (But still early access!) I have not had a single crash in about 40 hours.
2. It is unmistakingly a Dune game. The graphics, the systems and everything in it is true to the Dune legacy.
While not extremely large in scope for a 4X game (Stellaris, you've ruined us for 4X!) it has a solid foundation and room to grow, with active developers who really seems to listen and take on board what their players say.
3. Very active community and discord. Dev's are part of the discussion and so far are doing it the right way.
4. Graphics, sound are both quite decent. Can only improve as the game develops, so thumbs up.
5. Good and challenging even with some temporary systems in place that helps AI 'cheat'

CONS:
1. So far slightly limited with only 4 factions and 3 win conditions. Finding the easy path for a win is doable with little effort.
2. Systems and options a little unstable, loading saved games and a few other things can be buggy.
3. Early access for another 12 months or so.


So far, that's about it. Hope this helps someone! And if you try thing game out, do join the discord! Trust me, it's a great resource and a good feeling to be able to interact with the devs.

This is a classic strategy game that hits all the right buttons for me. Excellent replayability and able to customise the difficulty by both size, level and automation of certain tasks, this game manages to stay fun for beginners as well as experienced players. Also, go head to head with a friend in multiplayer mode!
