Gameplay: Once you escape your Maiden Voyage and set sail on the Sea of Thieves (aha, yeah, they meta namedrop the game a LOT), and complete your first trading company mission, the game becomes pretty hands off, letting you free-roam as much as you want. Want to find secrets? Go for it! Want to take up missions for treasure? Good choice! Want to be a true pirate and loot from others? Ahaha, got you covered. (Check out the Reaper's Mark flag[seaofthieves.gamepedia.com], or the Reaper's Bones[seaofthieves.gamepedia.com] trading company)

Graphics: Even on lower settings the game still paints the magnificent beauty of the seas and islands in an encapsulating way. Seeing the sunset with the light shining on the waves is truly relaxing. The character creator on the other hand leaves much to be desired with a random generator and no body type customizations.

Controls: Keyboard and Mouse, or opt to use a Controller, either way make sure you have the buttons mapped the way you like them. For Keyboard and Mouse players, I highly recommend setting up secondary hotkeys for your weapons to your mouse macro buttons, if you have them.

Sound: Soothing sounds of rippling and crashing waves, the cronch of a banana, the quickly changing music of the Kraken striking fear into the hearts of unwary pirates. Just be sure to turn down the in-game voice chat!

Difficulty: Since the game is PvE and PvP at all times, you'll want to start off with a smaller ship (the Sloop) until you've got a basic understanding of the mechanics and kind of problems you'll need to face. Sea battles can get very fast-paced and the quick maneuverability of the Sloop makes it easy to fight back, train in shots with the cannons, and if need be escape! You'll have to ensure you're paying attention to things like the wind, tracking and avoiding storms, and watching for ships on the horizon to protect your loot, ship, and crew. Be wary, be cautious, and more than anything, don't hoard too much for that treasure shines from a distance.

Overall: An amazingly fun game that you'll always find something new in each time you play. Lore rich when you play through the Tall Tales (story mode) or find journals scattered about the map. Entertaining combat, even when you end up losing and getting sunk. Beware the Kraken.

If you've got any questions you want answered about the game or my experiences, feel free to comment and I'll do my best!
