Sonic: Mr. President, what’s the urgent business?
Robotnik: [Laughs] It's been a long time, hasn't it? Good to see you again, Sonic!
Tails: Doctor Robotnik!
Robotnik: Please accept this small token of my gratitude for your coming all this way to see me...
[Cannons appear; Sonic and Tails destroy the robots at super speed. The robots poof into pink smoke.]
Sonic: That's a funny way to thank us!
[Sonic zooms towards Robotnik.]
President: Sonic, stop! Sonic, for the sake of my daughter and everyone else, listen to him!
Sonic: That's a dirty trick, Robotnik.
[Robotnik chuckles.]
Tails: No fair! You kidnapped the President and Sara so you could hold them for ransom and take over South Island, didn't you?
[Robotnik laughs and bounces off his chair.]
Robotnik: Do you think I'm capable of something that underhanded? Me?
Robotnik's robots: Yes!
[Robotnik faints.]
Robotnik: Hublrublrublrublru!
[Robotnik gets back up.]
Robotnik: Now Sonic, I've got the upper hand. This is about the entire planet of Freedom so you'd better do what I say!
Sonic: No way!
Robotnik: Don't you care about pretty young Sara? [chuckles]
Sara: Help me daddy!
President: Little Sara! Sonic, please listen to whatever Robotnik has to say!
Sonic: Oh alright. Give me the scoop Robotnik.
Robotnik: Thank you, Sonic. I will. [Forms a hologram of Planet Freedom] As you both well know, Planet Freedom is made up of two separate dimensions. The outer world, the one you live in is known as the Land of the Sky.
Sonic: Tell us something we don't know.
Robotnik: [growls] Shut up! Heed me! And the inner layer is known as the Land of Darkness. There I lived peacefully in a utopian city called Robotropolis, until Metal Robotnik came out of nowhere and attacked my peaceful city with a battalion of demonic robots. They conquered us and drove me out of my home. Metal Robotnik then sabotaged the Robot Generator that created the high voltage electricity for the entire city. It is running uncontrollably and there is no place to store this excess electricity. According to my calculations, if the Robot Generator isn't stopped by sunrise tomorrow, there will be a giant explosion. Huh?
[The President, Sara, the robots, Sonic, and Tails have all fallen asleep.]
Robotnik: Fine! Just don't blame me when this happens!
[Robotnik pops the hologram of Planet Freedom, and a comical explosion occurs. Afterward, Robotnik is covered with soot and dust.]
President: How can we stop this terrible thing from happening, Robotnik?
Robotnik: There's only one thing to do: someone has to get through Metal Robotnik's traps, go into Robotropolis and stop that generator before sunrise! And it should be the fastest one here.
Sonic: Forget about it. You created that stupid thing in the first place, why should I have to go around cleaning up your messes?
[The President is shocked, shoves Robotnik away, and runs to Sonic.]
President: Oh no! Sonic, please do it. You're the only one here that can save South Island and the entire Planet Freedom.
Sonic: [Annoyed] Mmm…
[Sara runs to Sonic.]
Sara: Sonic, I don't care what happens to Robotnik or daddy, but please just do this for the two of us?
[Sonic hops out of the desk.]
Sonic: Someone tell me why I should trust Robotnik when 99 out of 100 times he's lying!
Tails: But what if this is that one other time?
Sonic: Huh?
Sara: Please, Sonic?
President: Please Sonic.
Sonic: Fine! I'll do it.
Tails: Sonic?
Robotnik: You need to take this with you, Tails. It's a Navigator. As long as you have that with you it should take you to Robotropolis, using the shortest and fastest route.
Tails: Thank you Robotnik.
Sonic: Come on! Let's go!
Tails: Mmm!
[Sonic and Tails run off.]
[Scene Change: Sky.]
