This game is really hard to recommend. It is one of the best experiences I have ever had playing a video game. Out of all media, this is the single piece that has affected me most profoundly. There is nothing like this game and I doubt there will be anything like this game for a very long time.

That being said, this is a game about psychosis. I bought this game when it came out in 2017 and played a couple hours but had to stop. At the time I was not in a good mental place and I had to stop playing for my own sake. For whatever reason I decided to pick it back up now and finally finish it and I am so glad I did. This isn't a game, it's an experience. You have to be prepared for it, but if you are, it will affect in you a way that nothing else has before.

As for game-play, it's mostly a puzzle solver with some combat. The combat is tight and fluid, but a bit repetitive. Thankfully it isn't the focus of the game. The focus is 100% the narrative and the puzzle solving and atmosphere paired with the voices in Senua's head leads to such unique and haunting game-play.

I implore you to give this game a chance if you are capable.
