Well, Immortal Empires has been out for a little bit, in that short time I have doubled my amount of playtime since the initial release of Warhammer 3, almost 7 months ago. With this BetaTM of Immortal Empires, its time to decide if this is a good successor to Warhammer 2. I will not be reviewing Warhammer 3 in its Realm of Chaos context, as while better than initial release, I do not see myself playing it more than once or twice per initial new DLC release.

Something that I noticed right off the get-go was how much more difficult yet stupid the A.I. has gotten. The A.I. dodges spells and slow artillery fire and micro their units a lot better almost like a player can, alongside improved campaign functionality. I've been ambushed due to my carelessness and declared war on by a strong neighbor after taking a particularly heavy fight. But, some things the A.I. does seems to have regressed a bit since Warhammer 2. Clumping seems to be a major problem, and siege battles need some serious reworks to how the A.I. defends/attacks cities. I shouldn't be able to send a strong lord straight through all their defenses, take the victory point and WIN the battle due to the AI not contesting it quickly enough.

An absolutely amazing improvement is the multiplayer functionality. This game's multiplayer will become truly something special if they can fix some of the lag and crashes that I have experienced. Up to 8 players who can do their turns at once is objectively awesome, and with a 4 player campaign I was doing turns much faster than I was back in Warhammer 2 with just a coop campaign.

Diplomacy seems to be a great feature and improvement in this game. Seeing exactly how and why A.I. dont want to do that damn trade deal with you is great to see. Some issues are here for sure, primarily with confederation but I have no worries that it will be fixed sooner rather than later. I have a feeling C.A. is wanting to implement systems for confederation that are easier than just diplomacy, due to their track history with the last few Warhammer 2 DLC's with the game 1 race reworks. The allegiance and outpost system is a good way to add more depth into your A.I. Allies. Putting strong infantry from a different faction into one with strong range is really fun, and being able to tell your allies to attack or defend is a great addition.

Lastly, Id like to cover the U.I., scenery, and music. The color scheme of Immortal Empires is great, but should have similar customization like the battle settings. Also, when picking races, it could do to update some of the text for the factions to be more universal. For instance, game 1 races tell the player what the roster of that race has at their disposal, but game 2 races do not. My main praise is the scenery and new corruption mechanics. The Immortal Empires map is incredible both in how it looks and in scale. Not only that, but seeing how visually distinct corruption makes a land change is incredibly satisfying to both clean and spread from your territory. I've had battles in Kislev maps that are the same, but because of corruption the battle map itself gets tinted a sickly green with a stormy warpstorm infested sky due to skaven corruption, and this adds a lot more flavor to maps. Music as in Warhammer 2 is very good, but has a few bugs with it stopping in campaign or battle.

So, should YOU buy this game? I'd say right now, wait for a sale and get it. If you don't have Warhammer 1 or 2, wait for a BIG sale and get all of them to play Immortal Empires, as it is the best way to play this game hands down. If this game gets updates and transparent development for the next few years like we are getting now, I have no reason to believe anything other than this game being a fantastic ending to a great series of games.

Early Access Review
Since I've been asked by three people in one day, Ill answer the most prevalent question that everyone seems to be having: what is Arma: Reforger? Basically, MGSV: Ground Zeroes. A barebones technical demo to fulfill two needs, show off how baller the main title will be, and to stave off the ravenous fans just a bit longer. For the average person, this is not worth 30$ at the moment. But if you an Arma fan, this is a good look into the series future that you might want to be apart of. Stunning visuals, great audio, and satisfying performance. The technology present in the Enfusion engine has me very excited for the fourth main installment in Arma. I will hopefully update this review as this game updates, as it is planned to have a year of support in early access.

The original Risk of Rain was one of my first experiences in PC Indie Gaming, and it left quite an impression on me. From its stylistic character design, to the 2d side-scrolling ability spam fest, and an ending with music so beautifully appropriate it ended up permanently etched into my mind. So, when Hopoo Games, a studio of 4!!!! Individuals announced they were making a 2nd game and it would be 3d, I was all for it. I haven't written a review for this game yet, but I've owned it since it was first available in early access and with its first DLC on the horizon I think its time. Theirs a lot of reasons why I think this game is one of my favorites, and why it succeeds so much over its predecessor, which in its own right is fantastic:

The transition from 2d to 3d while keeping its style is incredible. From the ability usage, to the items, it all feels amazing as your character transcends into a beast until you either beat the game or loop until you die.
With the items you can feel that rush of getting a red on stage 1, or simply feeling happy at finally getting those damn crit glasses for when you desperately need one. Every item serves a purpose that benefits you in a very direct, observable way.
Plenty of secrets to unlock and explore, from hidden stages, characters, and items, it can keep you busy for a long time.
A wide variety of characters that all allow for a distinct play-style while also having switchable abilities that changes elements of their kit.
It is one of the best soundtracks that I've ever heard. From the active teleporter boss jams, to the quiet serenity of the earlier stages, to the absolutely fantastic finale of ...con lentitud poderosa it's an incredible listening experience, every time.
Easily accessible coop through steam, alongside the new addition of challenge modes for people who want that extra difficulty or variety in their runs,

So, should YOU buy this game? 100%. Play a few rounds on your own to get the hang of it, then once you inevitably get hooked, tell all your friends to buy it, and jam out with them. Your music will be electric.

TL:DR - Become Legend.

I don't know where to even begin this review other than the beginning. This is going to be a long one, so strap in.
I think I’d like to preface this with a simple statement: I love this game. A little bit of skeletons out the closet first, though. I could bore you a ton with the now infamous launch/year 1 of this game’s life, but I’m not going to do too much of that. This is a review, after all. I will say that this games launch was a time where I bought into a much younger Cole’s past view on this game and Destiny 1’s lasting legacy that led me to have rose colored glasses of it until about 3-4 weeks into its first DLC, Curse of Osiris. This is where the realization of just how terrible this game was at the time started to sink in. I should have quit it then but didn't go cold turkey for a variety of reasons. I think one of the biggest reasons I didn't was the community. This games community is truly like no other. I’ve met some of my favorite people in the whole world through this and have even traveled to meet them in person! (Shout out to my clans’ founder for her families everlasting generosity, truly some of the realest ones out there.)
But I stuck with this game. Played a bit through the two DLC’s, and while they weren’t amazing, I had faith in Bungie to turn it around. Forsaken, Bungie’s next major content drop, was a perfect step in the right direction. You could tell this is what the company had wanted to do before Activision forced them to rush Destiny 2 out. It was a real success and gave people some great endgame content to strive for, and really rejuvenated the game’s community. This led them into their next attempt, which is now being turned into what will seemingly be Destiny’s destiny, pun intended. The Dev’s have stated an annual pass model is a good approach to keep the story and gameplay constantly evolving, and to try and keep players engaged. I personally found the season pass activities to be fairly hit or miss, but kept me playing at least once or twice a week. I was actually more involved with the story presented in the season pass than in the Forsaken storyline (Drifter’s past, the ongoing quest of the Shadow’s of Yor/Shin Malphur, MITHRAXX BABY, and Calus’s dirty, dirty fanfic that I couldn’t help but reading). Besides that, this appears to be the way Bungie is going with their story, with it slowly unfolding and progressing over the seasons. I’m getting a bit off track though, just wanted to let everyone reading know I’ve played quite a bit, and am invested a bit in the story (Enough to get Chronicler!). But forget all that, let’s get into the big question: Should I get this game?
The short answer, YES! Destiny 2: New Light is free to everyone and contains the first two DLC’s. This adds up to a hefty amount of content, including: a decent storyline to introduce you to Destiny’s world, every single destination to explore alongside some activities that are prevalent only in specific destinations, some DLC story missions to explore, three raid/raid lairs, PVP content, some annual pass content, and Gambit (PVPVE Gamemode). You might be wondering, though: Didn’t I say at the beginning that this game’s first year was awful? While it isn’t the greatest content offered, it will get you familiar to the game and can gauge your interest in it well. Playing through all the campaigns might get you familiar with how the gameplay functions, what class you’d like to play (Titan master race), and more! Also, this game has some of the best gunplay for a PVE centric game I’ve ever played. Extremely satisfying to mow down bad guys with a machine gun that does more damage the more you kill, or pop heads with a massive revolver that reloads faster on headshots. Plenty of activities to get you familiar with the gameplay loop: Pick a task, do the task while styling on bad guys with guns and space magic, get the loot. If you decide that you like it enough to try out some of the premium content, you can purchase whatever content you want. Want to avenge a space cowboy western style, then go over to a fantasy land to kill a giant wish dragon to save a queen with your friends? Then Forsaken is for you! Or, which I’m assuming most people are here for, find out why the moon’s haunted? Then purchase Shadowkeep.
So, after all this is said, I hope you really consider playing through at least New Light! Bungie is a free company now, and I’m so excited to see where they go with this. Find yourself a good group of people like I did and make a family in here. You can tell from the Vidocs the effort they have put into Shadowkeep and the new systems implemented in, such as Armor 2.0. At the end of the day though, its up to you to Become Legend. Will you?

An enjoyable experience with above average villians, ending, and gameplay. Better than all the previous titles, I'd say, but if you are looking for a step away from the other titles in the series you will be dissapointed. Is it worth full price? I'd say yes if you have a friend to mess around with, or have a lot of time on your hand. Played on hard difficulty through the whole story.

Wish their was a neutral option for these reviews. On one hand, the options to play this game are endless and seem like a triumph for RPG's. However, glaring technical issues make this game seem like a mess (Crashes when updating graphic textures, really!? Along with various visual bugs such as your character appearing inside others during dialogue, or textures being low res until halfway through the cutscene). Will update if these issues get resolved, but for now, wait for sale or buy if you got a lot of free time.

Ark: Survival Evolved is truly one of a kind.
I was there since the beginning
I remember the first trailer and the hype
I remember being clueless and lost
I remember my first tame, and my friend sitting proudly on top of it
I remember hopping around servers, and all the people I met
I remember being raided for the first time and my first kill
I remember gaining it all
I remember losing it all
I remember friends leaving and never coming back
I remember myself leaving
I remember myself coming back, and making or bringing new friends
I remember breeding my first dino baby
I remember having to stay up till 4am for it
I remember becoming a mini picasso for a bit, painting anything and everything
I remember the day long raids, only being able to break through two walls
I remember logging on to a practically obliterated base
I remember quitting
I remember joining
I remember quitting again
And again
and again
I don't know what I'm really trying to convey here, there is countless other stories I could be telling but I feel as though its unnecessary. Ark has just recently gotten out of Early Access and I feel that it's fitting to write a different review besides the usual blather. If you haven't gotten Ark yet, wait for a sale and buy it. The gameplay is familiar but also so very different from all the normal survival crafting genre, and the amount of activities you can do in this is incredible. I would reccomend playing on Unofficial servers either with a small group or by yourself and meet new people. The stories I've gained from it are truly unforgettable.

TL;DR:
DOOM has exceeded any expectations I had for the franchises reboot, and its campaign is very solid, fluid, and engaging. Multiplayer is average and I wouldn't get the game soley for that reason.

With one of the best campaigns I've played for a while, DOOM's done an amazing job at creating the atmosphere that it wanted to make players feel. That is mostly put into play by its incredible and plentiful level design, tad of customization (however it doesnt go overboard with it like the multiplayer) during the campaign, and just a dash of story, DOOM has made it's single-player feel like an amazing entree. Here are some more Pros and Cons:

Pros:
  • Amazing Level Design, doesn't hold your hand much at all and lets you explore the levels on your own.
  • Combat is fast paced and fluid, and its 'glory kills' do not deter it all. (but if it doesn't appeal to you, I heard you could disable it)
  • Plenty of secrets in the levels that promote you to venture and discover every nook and cranny.
  • A nice variety of weapons, each with their own 'Mods' that change up how you use them. Also, the multiplayer has some exclusive weapons that are unique
  • Story is minimal, but I think that it actually helps it, kept me intrigued just enough to look forward to seeing how it would end. I didn't appreciate the cliche 'Good guy goes bad and cliffhangs you' ending, however.
Cons:
  • Multiplayer is a tad wonky at times, I've rocked Overcharge (100 Armor, 100HP) and died in like 4 seconds to a single player. Also hit registration needs work for sure. (i.e. Taking a shot that was off, yet somehow still connecting)
  • My biggest gripe is that their is no Coop option for the campaign.

TL;DR
A very hardcore challenge best played with others, I wouldn't purchase this as a standalone DLC but I do recommend trying to beat it for anyone with the Season pass.

Bozak horde is a set of trials that you must complete in order for you to get a bow and arrow (And special arrows afterward). It is very fast paced and can really lead to some clutch plays and frusturating defeats, but all the less it is fun to play. Unfortunately , I have not finished the trials, getting in the 10s on most solos and then suffering a heartbreaking defeat on trial 16.
