Once upon a time, this game didn't require a PSN account to be connected to your Steam account in order to play. SONY said that, due to technical issues at the game's launch, they didn't pursue linking everyone's accounts. But info about this was obfuscated at release; account linking was waived for about three months with no details from the developers about the issue. Now, the bell tolls: it has been announced that account linking is now required in order to play the game. Those in countries without access to the PSN will lose access to Helldivers 2. If linking to a PSN account was always required, then why did they allow customers in countries in non-PSN-service areas to purchase the game?

This game has been all over the place since launch with controversy -- I suggest against buying this game for a while so the game can stabilize and figure out what it wants to be. So like, wait a year or so.

Game is not finished - they said it was 1.0 early in order to get Christmas sales. If you really want it soon, wait until the crafting content is complete.

Characters were flat, only the romance options seemed to change over the game - and they only changed toward wanting to bone you. There was nothing to do between missions except go do more side missions or gigs for money. Money was practically worthless, gear in shops that was worth a damn was locked behind street cred level, everything else worth using was randomly looted. I like the idea of iconic weapons getting upgraded over the course of the game, but it required heavy crafting skill investment, which I was never able to level up since I focused skills that gave me actual benefits in combat. I completed the main story game in about 35 hours. All in all, it was odd and the frames dipped a lot when it wasn't crashing.

Early Access Review
Game wouldn't get to the main menu. Apparently this is a known issue, so be ready to refund if you can't turn the game on.

Gameplay was fun, story was awful. There are other games that are just as fun and have better stories, so I do not recommend this game.

Very addictive. Very good. The DLC was also very fun for fleshing out the universe, as well as adding some difficulty.

This game wasn't as fun as I was hoping for it to be. The first mission was amazing. The second one... not so much. The leveling up system is annoying. If it had a sort of tier based system with skill points, it would be better. Instead, you automatically get skills in a certain tree as you level. Its really passive, so the only aspect of the game seems to be to run through the 6 or so missions over and over again just so you are able to run through them over and over again with less difficulty. This game needs more levels and more gameplay types.
