The game itself is fairly fun, however the art direction is absolutely ridiculous. There are no options for milsim operators or any actually cool looking cosmetics to earn or buy. every single skin is a ridiculous fortnite style edgy skin with the clear target audience of a 14 year old. the mature tone of older call of duty games in multiplayer is completely out the window and nonexistant. the campaign is fun enough and continues the engaging black ops style of storytelling, however i really really wish there was some kind of cosmetic that makes any sense existing in a cold war combat setting.

TLDR: The game is fun, but it is the most ridiculous looking call of duty of all time with absolutely terrible horrendus art direction with the sole focus on grabbing money from kids begging their parents for in game money.

enjoying the game a lot. Sewerslvt in the soundtrack is so perfect.

i don't really understand the hype. I wasn't expecting the game to be so linear.

Some of the best boss fights in memory. a really super epic game with a finale that will leave you with goosebumps.

cool game, like battlefield except Chinese. also its a hero shooter so that sucks. i don't think I've heard a person say "man i want another hero shooter" since 2016. just pretend you aren't playing some stupid fortnite type of f2p Chinese game and you'll have plenty of fun.

I think the game is fun, but its in a rough state. Ill start with what i like at the moment.

- Atmosphere is great. Seeing things burning in the distance with the ambient noises and screams of zombies and whatnot is really immersive.
- Graphics are good
- Gameplay loop is pretty good. It feels like a skeleton of what the game could be, but its a good start. There is only 1 map and 1 mode at the moment, but the map is huge and there is many different spawn points, and the main objectives and side objectives change between each run keeping it fresh.
- Gunplay is pretty solid, I've seen some people complaining about this but personally i think it feels good. popping zombie heads with a magnum or an m14 is always satisfying. Sometimes it feels a little unresponsive though, ill just assume this is due to server issues or issues with my connection for now though.

Here is what i currently do not like about the game
- Melee combat is honestly terrible. Zombies will lunge from 20 feet away to strike you and you have no way to counter this from what i can see. There is no block or dodge option, and trying to push the zombie away does not work when they are in this attack animation. Also striking zombies does not stagger them about 70% of the time, they will just super armor tank your hits and then keep hitting you. The melee weapons are not effective unless they are sledgehammers. Its very surprising that melee combat is so terrible when people on this team developed the chivalry series, which is almost exclusively sword / blunt weapon combat.
- Animations are extremely janky. I can see the devs were trying to go for a left 4 dead style death animation for the zombies. For example, if you kill a zombie they will enter a fall animation and then they will ragdoll once the animation is complete. But unless the zombie is on a flat surface they will just totally freak out and fly all over the place like a halo 3 ragdoll.
- No infections. I know this is a planned feature, but it feels like a large part of the stress from the original game is totally missing since there is almost no consequence to getting hit or grabbed by a zombie. you also get a free life since you spawn with a self revive syringe.


These are the main things i currently like and dislike about the game. I find myself enjoying the game more often than not, however the early stages of each round are extremely tedious using the terrible terrible single handed melee weapons.

I was incredibly sceptical about this game from the time it was announced, until the time I played it. I seriously didn't think they could improve upon the original material at all.
Its been a welcome surprise to see bloober team really locked in and provided the best silent hill experience since 2004. This remake is everything I could have ever hoped for and more. Its an extremely faithful, atmospheric, tense, dreadful and disturbing re imagining of James Sunderland's hell.
The music is spectacular and the close third person gameplay works immensely in this games favour.

Please remake silent hill 3 bloober team!
